KS-10 and Zoom meetings

I wear KS-10 and when I watch a YouTube video, I hear sounds via Bluetooth connection to my hearing aids. However; when I participate in a Zoom meeting, I can only hear via my laptop speakers. Is there a way to hear through the Bluetooth connection in Zoom conversations?

Here are the three ways I’ve done zoom with my p-90 HAs. In declining order of preference:

TV connector hooked to headphone port on laptop.

Headphone cable of Roger On hooked to headphone port on laptop.

Dial into call parallel to zoom on computer. Input codes into phone to sync call on phone to session on computer.

The first two are almost equal, but the Roger On needs to be charged, while the tv connector runs off a usb connection and just keeps going. I suppose the Roger On would be like that if I had a dock to stick it in. But the connector drops when the call is done, unlike the Roger.

When you join a Zoom call, you can select the audio source and microphone. If your HAs are paired with the desktop or laptop computer you are using to access the Zoom call, you should be able to select the HAs as the audio source and microphone for the call.

I have battled that since September. Phonak Tech support asked me to try changing the setting for phone calls from adaptive to fixed rate. Didn’t help. If I fire up a zoom, my HAs get dropped from the BT connection in about 3 sec.

It works fine for listening to videos. Not so much for google meet or zoom.

There have been a couple of times when Zoom did not list my HA as an audio source option. When that happens, I go to my laptop’s Settings (I use Windows 10), then System, then Sound, then “Choose your output device”, then your HA should be one of the available options (if you’re paired).

Thank you for your suggestion. Selecting the hearing aids as the audio source in the Zoom settings solved the problem.

I use Bluetooth w/Zoom plus I (usually) get closed captions. I made up some directions for CC for the Citizens Water Advocacy Group. After next Sat. meeting in a few days I plan to add an image for displaying the captions after the host enables them. I already have an image for requesting captions.
