Kirkland 9.0 hearing aids when in cars

My Kirkland 9.0 hearing aids shut down drastically when the car I am in accelerates. They work fine in an idling car. Has anyone else experienced this?

I have experienced electrical interference in my car when wearing my Resounds but not my KS10’s. Have you changed your vehicle, or is it the car you usually drive?

Does this happen in anyone else’s car? You may have an electrical issue in your car.

Is it perhaps reacting to increased noise of acceleration?

Do you have the telecoil version of KS9’s? If so could be your problem. If I have my Resounds on tcoil in the car, they pick up lots of electrical noise.

I had a Jeep Rubicon with a noisy exhaust. I couldn’t hear conversation at all.

My Paradise P90R’s were set up wrong. the audi had set up “speech in car” with pinpoint focus, straight ahead. I couldn’t hearany conversation in the Rubi.

I have myPhonak. However, it was a setting that only the audi could see in “speech in car”. He did change it and save on “speech in car”.

Makes no difference what car I’m in. In any car the amplification turns off by maybe 80% when the car is moving. I understand the Kirkland 9.0 does NOT have a coil, so that can’t be a factor. My audiologist has tried to address the problem by making them somehow less sensitive to the noise of the car, but that’s made no difference. Frankly, I’m going to give up on these Kirklands, but I would like to know from other hearers what brands don’t have this problem. A friend has Otikons and says he can hear fine in a moving car.

I have P-90R HAs. The only issue I (sometimes) have is the effect you describe when using my Roger On to stream from my phone in the car. When the mic in held in certain positions it sometimes gives that effect. When the car is moving even a little, I experience a much lower volume level on everything. Once stopped, it comes back full strength. Blasting if I’ve turned it way up to hear while moving. I’ve never sorted it completely. I change the positions and the issue goes away.

Kirkland 9.0 did come out with a coil model later. That said I’m not saying yours have coils.

@KARROWR
I think my hearing aids are equivalent to the K10’s.
My hearing instrument specialist solved my problem.

“speech in car” is now set so that I can hear all around me. After all people sitting anywhere may be talking.
The pinpoint aim, previously set straight ahead was so restricting that I couldn’t tell if anyone was talking in my Jeep Wrangler.

Frankly, my issue is autosense in my Paradise P90R’s. I don’t like it. I don’t know what program it’s using.
