I’ve had my ES 500’s for about 6 months now. Both failed (dead mics) at about 3 months and were replaced (with used units). Now the right one has failed again - same problem= dead microphone or Amp. (The chimes and bluetooth phone and music connections are heard well in both ears.) Still waitng after 2 days for Jabra response.
I believe Resound got a bad batch of michrophones … I have had 4 aids replace because of that problem … I am waiting for two Jabras to come back from Costco at this time.
The second set of Nexia’s seem to be working fine at the moment … fingers crossed
I have the same problem (again) the first time it fails jabra sent me a replacement, they sent me a partir (left and right) the right transmitter does not work, I used the first right transmitter instead, but once again it fails, the left one. Does anybody know what is the problem with the microphones? I saw on Amazon a hearing aid vacuum to clean the hearing aid microphone, etc. It’s postpone that the problem is dirt or something in the microphones holes?
Well I could resurrect my left hearing aid, I put it on a dehumidifier 3 times for 8 hours and it works. I hope you can use it, because before I used a vacuum cleaner to aspire the possible dirt and debris and it didn’t work, I hope you can solve it too.
My experience with Resound / Jabra aids is that tiniest bit of moisture causes the microphones to play dead.
If you sweat a lot or wear the aids in bed, sitting or lying against a pillow this can exacerbate the problem.
The solution is to regularly clean them and put them in a dehumidifier often even when they are working normally.
when the microphone inevitably goes dead I find 1-2 days in a dehumidifier is better than waiting 3 weeks for a repair / replacement that will suffer the same issue before long.
Also if you need a quick fix putting the aid in a tiny air-tight enclosure like a pill box on full volume for 5-10 minutes often works too.
