Jabra Enhance Pro and Music Quality

I’m a first time hearing aid user and have a month of experience with the M&RIE Jabra from Costco. I am very pleased and am at the point where I miss them if not wearing - so I’m pretty much full time. One issue is music quality. When listening to my SONOS system I am quite happy with the quality and even more so when I change the aid program to Music. However when using streaming mode from my iPhone, the music quality is very poor as to the range of of tone regardless of what program I choose and adjustments on the equalizer. Is this just a fact-of-life for streaming or is something amiss in my setup?

I have the same aids and the sound quality of streaming music is fair for me. It’s nowhere near actual earbuds or headphones. I don’t know if there are many HA that have great streaming quality - however you can wear headphones over the HA and it sounds good.

Hi Mark, I don’t know whether you are wearing open domes, or custom earmolds, but be aware that streaming music is basically limited to lower midrange, and high frequencies through any hearing aid.

You need to be as occluded as possible, as in no vent earmolds to hear any sort of bass response when streaming.

I’ve experimented with Hearos earplugs behind my molds, but you have to really stuff them in deep to hear the benefit, and the discomfort may not be worth it.

I don’t have Jabra, and am not familiar with their fitting software, but most software has settings for more bass, and less highs, that can give a richer sound.

If there’s a smartphone app for your aids, it may have an equalizer you can adjust.

Otherwise, a good pair of over the ear headphones with your hearing aids on, will yield the sound you need.

Had my Jabras going on 5 months, very satisfied with them. But I wear ear buds or headphones instead of streaming. They are useless to me for streaming music. I use them as hearing aids, not as Air Pods.
