I have Jabra Enhance Pro 20 hearing aids coupled to a Samsung Galaxy S25+. The aids have M&RIE. When I make or receive phone calls, the person I call frequently complains that my voice sounds very distant, like I am in a tunnel. I suspect the issue is that the microphones in the ear canal don’t pick up my voice very well. If I switch to “hear in noise” rather than “all-around”, which uses the external microphones on the aids, others report my voice sounds more normal, but I usually have the aids in all-around when a call arrives. I don’t normally take advantage of hands-free, that is I have the phone in my hand to connect the call. I would like to be able to use the microphone on the phone, but still receive the caller’s voice via the aids, but I can’t find a way to set this up in either the Jabra app or in the accessibility settings for the phone. I also couldn’t find any guidance on the internet. Can anyone help?.
Thanks,
Frank
I have the same HA’s as you … I find if I hold the phone as if I were talking to it in speaker mode (6 in from my mouth) … the glass of the phone reflects my voice to the HA’s and it seem to work better.
I have a Pixel 9 pro and Jabra EP 30s. The recent update to Android has the option of switching the microphone from the aids to the phone.
Android 16 should be available for Samsung phones soon.
I also have a Pixel 9 Pro With Jabra EP 20’s. I would like to not have the phone calls audio default to the HA’s. Where in the settings did you find the option of switching the microphone from the HA’s to the phone. Hopefully I can also switch the audio to the phone too.
You get this opportunity when the call comes in you get HAs, speaker, or phone to choose.
@tenkan is correct that the phone app lets you switch between HAs, speaker, or phone when receiving or making a call.
If you want to receive calls to the HAs and switch the microphone between the HAs and phone, go to the Bluetooth, then click on the cog wheel by the name of your HAs and you will see various options, one of which is the microphone option.
I have the same problem but with an iPhone 16. A couple of answers said it’s in the programming, but they weren’t specific. I’m going to try the Hearing in Noise setting as they did, and hope that helps. Does anyone else have any ideas?? Before this I had the ReSound HAs which from what I understand are what the pro 30s are based on. I had no issues with the ReSound set.
I have been changing the audio to speakerphone when the calls come in. Most of the time that happens while I’m driving and makes for a busy scary moment. Most of the calls involve my wife so she is left out until I intervene. She has essential tremor so when she tries to tap the phone, the phone does things I’ve never see it do before. I just want the phone be the primary on phone calls not the HA’s.
