I purchased Jabra Enhance Pro 20s at Costco. Great experience and love my HA. I have the “Music” setting in the Jabra Enhance App, am running iOS 18 on iPhone SE. When streaming from Spotify or any Music App, all the options in the App disappear, including the “Music” option and instead it is replaced with “Audio Streaming”. This is a terrible sound setting for streaming, but no amount of closing the app, restarting the phone, reloading the app, etc… seems to overcome this issue. I have interacted with ChatGPT and it seems to think that “When streaming audio from Spotify, the Jabra Enhance Pro 20 automatically switches to “Stream Audio” mode, which disables other preset sound profiles like the “Music” setting. This is because the hearing aid’s streaming mode takes control to optimize sound for direct audio input from the phone, limiting access to other audio adjustments in the Jabra app.”
Is this just a hopeless endeavor? Has anyone been successful with a Music setting on the Jabra Enhance Pro 20s on an iPhone streaming music where it actually doesn’t sound tinny and distorted? Thanks. My first post in the community.
There is a setting in the HCP’s fitting software under accessories where one can increase the Streaming Bass Boost which makes a noticable difference.
On the Android app when you are streaming all the programs are still there and they each say “Audio Streaming”. You can still switch to the music program by tapping the symbol at the top of the app. The sound when switched to the music program does take on the fitting software settings of the music program. Under the Sound Enhancer you can separately adjust the bass, mid and treble.
I also switched from open domes to closed domes to get considerably better streaming sound. The open domes leaked too much bass when streaming for me.
I really enjoy streaming on Spotify and Amazon Prime music apps a lot. This considering the tiny speakers and frequency range limits. I hope this helps.
Actually that isn’t quite right. There is a section in the HCP’s fitting software, SmartFit, where the HCP can fully adjust the gain curves for audio streaming, not just boost the bass. When streaming, otherwise they stay on whatever the fitting software thinks is optimum for your prescription, with a strong intention to be optimal for speech understanding. It’s easy to alter, but you do need either to change the settings yourself or get your HCP to do it for you. It’s trivially easy to do but not easy to get to sound right.
Actually there is a specific option for Streaming Bass Boost as well. I have used it my self with my copy of SmartFit as did my HCP when I showed it to him.
Has something changed in SmartFit 2.0 that I am not familiar with, I have not updated to it yet.
I had a similar experience with my iPhone/KS10 aids with Music streaming. I went to Costco, asked for my Audiogram and entered it into my iPhone settings. Confusing at first but Google search revealed the process. Music was much improved after audiogram corrections for KS10 streaming. However, if I use iPods the music audio is better still. I also find the iPod noise cancellation feature great for cutting grass, power tools and airplane travel. Beats headphones/muffs for comfort and ease of use.
