I have a in the ear HA and would like to know if Behind the Ear would be better. Audiologist says I can use either type.
Has anyone had both and would give me their opinion on negatives and or positives on your choices.
Thank you for your help.
It all depends on what works best for you. I wore ITE aids until I seeded mor power than the ITE aid could give me without feedback issues. I wear MiniRite aids now with custom ear molds. So I basically have the best og both. The custom molds give me the comfort of ITE aids and the hardware behind my ear helps prevent feedback.
Gotcha… Understand.
Thanks for your input. I ride my bike and with the ITE ones I get a lot of wind noise where the BTE might be better also.
I ride a Vespa GTS300 it can easily run 70 mph. I wear a halfshell helmet. I don’t have and issues with wind noise. I can even drive with my windows down on my vehicle.
Thank you cvkemp, wonder why my ITE HAs get so much wind noise? I thought behind the ear HAs would not allow the wind hit the HAs, less wind noise.
It all depends on the hearing aid technology and the way the audiologist makes use of the available adjustments.
Had a Widex. Cheapest I could buy. I was unemployed.
ITE.
I could only hear behind me.
Wind noise was awful.
It hurt.
Bad purchase.

Thank you daveL
thank you so much Dave I appreciate your input
It happened during a hard time. I had just moved, and was unemployed. I found my supplier in the “Yellow Pages”
I bought one, after asking why 2? (cost!)
So blame is on me. Certainly not Widex.
