Is there anyway to get this filter out by myself?

Was changing the filter this morning and instead of it popping out as normal it decided to go deeper.

You might be able to pop it out with a needle if you are good with small things, or if you know a small person who is good with small things.

I have a pin that I bent a hook on the end with a small pliers.

I had this very same problem a few months ago. Tried a pin – carefully! – but no luck. Took it to my audi, who fixed it in a few minutes.

FWIW, I’ve had several problems with Oticon filters. The day after the audi removed and replaced the problem filter, the new one fell out (I noticed this in the morning – no idea what happened to it). I once removed a HA and noticed the filter was missing – found it in my outer ear. Had another instance of a missing filter, never found. When the receiver came back from repair, the audi said she had found 2 filters squished inside!!! How is that possible? I would certainly know if I pushed one into the receiver – as in the case of the wedged filter like yours, or if it disappeared while I was inserting it.

I use Widex filters (from Amazon) on my Oticon More custom molds. I find these to fit better and are less expensive.

In my experience, the Oticon receivers seem to be a softer plastic than some other companies and if you push hard when changing the filter (i.e. to make sure the filter is in firmly, or because tactile feedback isn’t as sensitive as it used to be) it will distort/widen the receiver over time and then new filters won’t stay in.

Thank for warning.

Weird, they don’t warn us by print this on the box “Do not push hard” or receiver filter will got stuck. Or damaged and not stay in.

I hope I didn’t push it too hard because first time change the filter, I easily pop it out with filter tools and change it. When its 2nd time, it seems to stuck but I can use finger nail to pop it out.

Did I damaged it? did I push it too hard? or its normal sometime you can’t pop it out with filter tools?
