I am looking for ways to do a DIY hearing test with normal audio equipment, i.e. no HA. Just a computer or phone and earbuds or earphones. I understand that it’s impossible to come up with absolute values this way. What I envision is a test for frequencies without a base line. Does that exist somewhere? I tried Free Online Frequency Hearing Test [2024] - Signia (Global) but although they do test a few different frequencies the results are very generic. I would hope to build an audiogram myself.
I don’t know about android, but the Apple side has fairly good results from either the built-in test from ios 18, or using an app like Mimi, along with good earpods or airpods. The tests I did with mimi before I had formal testing matched formal testing really well. I started with airpods (OG) and an Iphone 12 pro max.
Hope this helps.

Thanks, but I’m not an Apple user… I am currently tinkering around with https://hearingtest.online/, which is pretty close to what I was envisioning, except for the way of determining the base line, which I find awfully difficult to do objectively.
How do I access this built-in test? Thanks
How accurate did you find this site?
If all you have is your PC and a set of headphones, it is the best I know. Setting the baseline is the biggest challenge, obviously. If you have hearing aids and can use their in-situ audiogram functionality, that is far more accurate. Having said this, I have become quite disillusioned even with the medical audiogram tools – at least for me, they are not necessarily accurate. Might have to do with my tinnitus.
