Is the Surflink Mobile 2 vs Mobile 300?

Hello,

I’m a newbie to wireless streaming for HAs. I been using a pair of Phonaks for 5 years, and when I got them there was a bluetooth adapter that was pretty clunky that you wore around your neck so I didn’t buy it.

Now, I just “inherited” a pair of 6 month old Audibel A3 HAs and the audiologist reprogrammed them for me. I see on the Audibel website that there is a Surflink Mobile 2 for streaming bluetooth, etc. This looks like it would be worth having. I’ve seen some used Surflink Mobile 300 units for sale. Is the Mobile 2 just a revision of the Mobile 300? Is it worth spending an extra $300 to $400 for the Mobile 2?

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

The SurfLink Mobile 2 contains a larger battery for more streaming time. It’s slightly thicker than the original SurfLink Mobile. Both devices have “Model 300” printed on the back, so you can’t tell them apart based on that alone.

I have a Surflink Mobile 1.0 that had the software updated to 2.0. It has the 1.0 battery, but have a cable that allows charging and streaming so battery time is not an issue.

Mine also has Model 300 printed on the back.

If you have the money, I think the Surflink Mobile is wonderful. I hear better through it than anything else I’ve tried. At work I can listen to the radio and not bother my co-workers.

Other manufacturers use different devices to stream. I’ve not used anything else, but I am sure most of them are an improvement in hearing.

One thing to know, you can have your audi set one of your programs to be dedicated to the 2.0 Mobile. It is the only way to go.

db,

Great info. Just what I was looking for. I haven’t talked to my audi yet, but have a followup appointment with her in a couple of weeks to discuss $$, etc for the Surflink.
