Is partner mic compatible with Phonak Moxi jump aids? I bought a mic on eBay and can’t get them to pair

Bought a mic on eBay and won’t pair

I am totally unfamiliar with Unitron Moxi Jump aids! The link below, is for Unitron Partner Mic, so it may not work with a Phonak Partner Mic, you might need the Unitron version? Hopefully someone will have had some success, and post up? Good Luck, cheers Kev

Can’t say. These are Unitron aids. Do you know what generation of Phonak aids they’re related to? If it’s Marvel, Paradise, Lumity or Infinio a PartnerMic should pair. Try holding the aids very close to the PartnerMic when doing the pairing procedure.

The Phonak Unitron Moxi Jump hearing aids belong to the Unitron Discover Next platform, which is considered a 4th generation platform under the Discover series. These hearing aids were released around 2020 and are built on Sonova’s Sword chip technology, similar to Phonak’s Marvel platform.

What type mic do I need to work with these?

My understanding is that it should be compatible with PartnerMic and if equipped with Roger receivers with Roger microphones. Again, have you tried pairing with the hearing aids almost touching the PartnerMic?

I have tried over and over. I leave aids in my ears and hold Mike right up to it. Get the red light each time. Am I doing it wrong?

I would try it with both hearing aids off of your ears and sitting right next to the PartnerMic. Hearing aids should have just been restarted. It may not work but the times I’ve been frustrated trying to pair have been solved by doing this. If this fails, then I’d try returning the PartnerMic if possible and trying another one.

I have never used a “Partner Mic”… I have however used nearly every other Roger devices, having read up a little on the Partner Mic, it doesn’t mention if it’s a Roger device, it also doesn’t mention whether you need Roger X receivers (type 02 or 03) can you confirm @MDB if this is a requirement for your Partner Mic please? If so, @folkart would require 2 x Roger X receivers, in order to pair & function with his Moxi’s! Cheers Kev

I use a PartnerMic. AFAIK, it is NOT a Roger device. It pairs directly to the aid & CI, assuming it works with it. I can’t tell you if it works with Moxi, as I’m not familiar with that line. But if it does, it will pair directly, without a Roger.

I wish I had more info for you. Good luck!

Agreed. PartnerMic does not require Roger receivers.

The turning off and pairing on the table didn’t work. Apparently this isn’t compatible with my aids. Can someone tell me which mic I need? Phonak Unitron Moxi Jump. I’m going to see if this one works with my husbands new Costco aids. He has mild loss at 74. Mine is severe and genetic. Deaf without aids. Thank you all!

You may require the Unitron Partner Mic version, any of the other Roger Mic’s would also require Roger X receivers, and that can prove to be costly, unless you buy a Roger Mic, for example, the Roger on “iN” version second hand? It’s a bit of a minefield buying second hand stuff, there isn’t any guarantee things will work, sometimes people want rid, because they are faulty… Having said that, 95% of my Roger Assistive Listening Devices (ALD’s) were bought second hand, some were bought with known faults, like dodgy batteries, and I just replaced the battery, by soldering in a new one… Cheers Kev

Check this page if your hearing aids are listed:

I kinda think that only shows Roger mics and only what is currently sold. For my aids it only shows Roger on (with and without “in”).

Well, it actually did display a range of Roger mics, but only Roger mics. The next mic was completely off the screen and I had no clue there were more.

I did a Google search for “Untron Maxi Jump compatibility”
There the Partner Mic is listed as compatible.
Either the correct pairing process is not being followed or the mic could be bad.

I did the same. Agree with you. OP should return the mic for refund.

when you turn the aids off and then back on … you have about 2 minutes to pair them to the mic.
once they are paired they will connect automaticly when the partner mic is turned on.

I don’t have a partnermic, but it uses the same airstream protocol as the TV Connector. It doesn’t do a bluetooth pairing, and I doubt the aids need to be in the BT pairing time window. Just close by when the mic goes into pairing mode.

I use a Partner Mic purchased through Ebay with my KS10 hearing aids. I learned that Partner Mic does not work with Rexton KS8)-- only KS 9 and KS 10. (Made by Phonak, sold through Costco. ) My first Partner Mic worked well until I ran it through the washer. I purchased a second and couldn’t connect it until I had removed all l bluetooth pairing information from iphone, ipad, chromebook,
This is what worked for me:
Unpair/reset partner Mic by pressing pairing button for 30 seconds.
Unpair hearing aids from other devices:
chromebook, iphone, etc…
reset hearing aids by pressing lower toggle for 30 seconds
freshly charge hearing aids
freshly charge partner mic
turn on hearing aids
turn on partner Mic
Pair.
Still doesn’t work?
try turning hearing aids off. reset partner mic again by pressing pairing button for 30 seconds.
turn off partner mic
turn on hearing aids and immediately turn on Partner mic press pairing button on mic.
Still no luck? Contact ebay seller b/c the Partner Mic may be faulty.
