Hi - I’m in the UK and I experience intermittent audio between my NHS supplied Signia Stretta AYA with Signia Streamline mic. The audio cuts out every few seconds. This is with both streamed audio or the Streamline’s mic only mode.
Signia tech support have suggested this would be solved by a firmware update in Signia Connexx 9.12, but yet to advise when this would be available. The Signia app suggests my current firmware version is 20.18.691.2.
Might anyone know when Signia Connexx 9.12 might be available?
Has anyone had similar behaviour and been able to resolve it?
Currently an unsuitable work around is by re-pairing the Streamline mic with my old Stretta 'made for iPhone ’ aids and then back to my AYA aids. After a while the intermittent audio returns.
I have the same issue, although no means of fixing it temporarily like you do. I had contacted Signia who said the hearing aids needed a firmware update, which I got Specsavers to do but it did not help. Emailed signia again who said the following:
"The interim fix does not solve all cases of the issue unfortunately which is why it was just an interim fix…
Whilst the new version of Connexx programming software is in Beta there is no sign of a specific date for it’s release yet – testing usually takes a few weeks before it is released as a final version. Even I do not have access to it at this point…

Apparently, the issue is an expired Bluetooth certificate. Why this should take so long to fix is completely beyond me.
I keep going back to Specsavers but there never seems to be a hearing aid professional available and they’ll “get back to me”, but don’t. The most frustrating thing is not being able to find out when the update will be available. Signia say Specsavers should be able to let me know or put me on some notification list, but that doesn’t seem to be something they’ll admit to being able to do.
Thanks for posting.
Yes expired Bluetooth certificate was the same thing reported to me.
If I receive any further news I shall post here. Every few weeks I email Signia Support to check for release date news. Likewise if you get any news @Dragonlode I’d be thrilled if you could post here too please.
Hope we get it sorted soon.
@Dragonlode Signia UK tech support have informed me the release date of Connexx which should fix the problem I had reported is 2nd September.
Are they saying a firmware update through Connexx, or a new version of Connexx software being released then?
I understand it to be both a firmware upgrade and through a new Connex version - 9.12
Hi Bob,
Wow, that’s still a long time to wait, but at least it’s a date. Thanks for letting me know. I intended to go into Specsavers (the audiologists) this weekend and ask, but did not quite get around to it. Now I’ll be able to tell them!
But this is an update to the aids themselves isn’t it? That’s what Signia told me needed updating, which is why a trip to the audiologists is required.
Dale
@Dragonlode hi - yes it was explained to me it’ll be a firmware update to the hearing aids that will be available in Connexx 9.12.
Hi @Seasidebob ,
I had my aids’ software updated a few days ago. Their software version is now on 20.19.852.2. However, there is no change in the behaviour of the streamline mic.
My next step is to write to signia again and ask what’s going on. To add insult to injury, I noticed my audiologist has a streamline mic on display in the shop.
Regards
Hi @Dragonlode - thanks for posting update.
I’m waiting for my audiologist to confirm they have the the new release.
According to Signia app I too am on 20.19.852.2 firmware.
I got that update a few months back and likewise still have problem with connectivity with streamline mic.
Signia explained to me the fix is in the firmware release which is with their Signia Connexx release 9.12. They confirmed to me on 5Sep it had been released.
Do you know if your audiologist had Signia Connexx release 9.12? Also please keep me posted if you get any news from Signia.
I’ll keep this thread updated with any news my end .
Hi @Seasidebob
I should have re-read your posts before going. I did not ask them that. I think I will ask them next week.
I emailed Signia today to ask if there was any resolution to this issue. I said if it only affects some users then can I have a new device, or failing that, my money back.
Hi @seasidebob
I’m really happy to report that my Signia Stretta aids and my Streamline mic now work together again, with no intermittent sound issue!
I have had quite a few emails back and forth with Signia, and in the end, they suggested that I send my mic to them for testing. In retrospect, this should have been a waste of time because we know it’s the aids’ firmware that is the issue.
Signia put the Streamline on test with their own aids for several hours and they worked okay. They sent the device back and of course I had to re-pair with my aids and phone. That did the trick, it seems pairing again as well as the correct firmware is needed.
From Signia, I had established that v9.12.0 of the Connexx programming software is the minimum version required by the audiologist to get this to work. I checked with my branch of Specsavers and this is the version they have. The very latest software has .3 on the end instead of .0.
Anyway, I hope this helps you, if you have not already got it sorted and perhaps anyone else who might read this.
Regards
Dale
Thanks for the update Dale @Dragonlode and pleased all sorted for you.
Do you know what version of firmware your Signia hearing aids are on please? Mine are 20.19.852.2 according to Signia app>Settings>Versions.
Due to change in circumstance I no longer use the Streamline mic for bluetooth connection to audio. However back in December I too visited my audiologist once they had Connexx 9.12 (in their case it was 9.12.2.280). However it returned no firmware update available. I have tried my Streamline mic in “microphone mode” since that visit and it has retained its connection - so maybe fixed for me also despite the no firmware update message? I had previously experienced the connectivity problem in “microphone mode” too.
Happy new year @Seasidebob .
My aid firmware versions are the same as yours, 20.19.852.2. Most of my trips to the audiologist resulted in the ‘no firmware update available’ message, especially recently, so I’m not sure when it actually got fixed. Since it seems to need a re-pair it could have been fixed a while ago.
I too, had the intermittent mic problem, which got fixed at the same time as the streaming problem.
