How To Tell What Size Dome or Tip?

Hi!

I’ve Signia TruHearing Pure Charge And Go RIC 7 with the soft, silicon tips (domes?). I was wondering how to tell from the markings what size they are. I’d like to buy some spares without bothering the audiologist.

They are clearly different widths. Searching vendors’ web sites, I don’t see the numbers which are marked on the domes (tulips?).

A photo of a similar dome type is attached below. Mine have 4 slots instead of two, as shown in the photo.

RIGHT:

Marked “A1” one one side & “S” on the other.

It measures 12-1/2 mm at the wide end and 7mm at the narrow end. Length is 11-1/2 mm

LEFT:

Marked “20” on one side and “S” on the other

Measurements = 12 mm wide end, 8mm narrow end & 13 mm long

Can these numbers help identify which to order?

Thanks For Helping!

Paul

PS: Bonus Question: Are they called “Tips”, “Domes” or “Tulips”?

I’ve searched online to see what I can find out about your domes. I cannot find specific measurements, or anything about A1 or 20, but S usually means small. Other than measurements, do the domes look identical to you? I’m thinking that they are the Signia 3.0 Vented Dome, and perhaps the shorter one is XS (extra small) and the longer one is S (small).

I doubt your audiologist would consider it a bother to send you some extra domes by mail and tell you what brand, model and size they are. My audiologist will have her assistant mail me a batch of domes and wax filters on request, because that’s part of my benefits coverage. It’s a frequent part of the profession, and people who don’t like people and providing good service don’t typically go through the time, effort and expense of getting a doctoral degree involving making people’s lives better.

If you plan to try different domes, be aware that minor changes in dome style and size are usually not a problem, but a change in occlusive properties/venting can require a programming change.

Small vented sleeve or small power sleeve if there’s not an extra little hole. Probably the same size just adjusted a bit but your ear. But yes your provider will give/sell you some.

Thank You both for taking time to reply and with helpful comments. The domes look identical, except for size and the numbers marked inside.

I’ll ask the audiologist if I may buy some spares and ask what the sizes are for future reference.

I forgot to ask: Is the part of the dome the same size among brands so that it will snap securely onto the speaker?

Thanks Again!

Paul

No. Especially if it’s a click dome nothing else will work.
