How often do you change the Receiver on RIC hearing aids?

It is a very hard question to answer. We have to compare apple to apple and orange to orange before answering the question. Each individual, environment & etc etc is different. At the end of the day, just keep it simple and take care of the HA nicely & gently! Sometimes it’s just luck.

@hearing-love_loss: Right. You answered your own question. It’s because the receiver is protected, and not placed in a hostile environment like the ear canal.

Another factor for receivers inside the BTE shell being more robust, I guess, is probably because it can be a much bigger size than the in-the-canal receivers. So it’s more likely that the ITC receivers fail more often because they’re undersized for what they need to drive, while the BTE receivers can be sized properly (maybe even with extra margin) so they don’t get overworked as much, beside being in a more protected/less humid environment.

I’m just guessing here, of course, because I don’t have any first hand knowledge of BTE receivers myself personally.
