How does Costco Kirkland Signature 8.0 compare to the Signia Pure 7Nx?

In am new to the HA thing, and trying to get up to speed. The part that I am finding most difficult is understanding the manufactured technical jargon used to describe features. It appears to me that manufacturers go out their way to make comparison as difficult as possible. As an example the Rexton and Signia models that the KS 8.0 is based on use almost totally different terms. The KS 8.0 has some fairly detailed specifications using the Rexton jargon. However, I have been unable to find a lot of explanation of what it means. Under the Signia name there is quite a bit more detail on the Pure 7Nx, but comparison to the KS 8.0 is difficult. So I am wondering if anyone has done a detailed comparison between the Costco and Signia models and determined what features in the Signia 7Nx are are not included with the KS 8.0?

Thanks to this site, I have found a very helpful KS 8.0 Data Sheet.

I can’t find the same for the Rexton comparable model, but there is one almost identical to this for the Signia.

But the best one I have found is for the Signia Nx models and it actually includes some understandable description of that the jargon means. It is the Signia Detailed Feature Table:

The one obvious difference is the lack of the Tinnitus masking in the Kirkland version, but after that it is not so obvious. Has anyone identified the other features not included in the KS 8.0?

Except for the tinnitus masking, we have determined here KS8’s are pretty much Rexton Emerald 80 8C.

Of course they are missing the high price tag & have a 180 day return policy instead of the standard 90 day demo.

Not sure how to cross Rexton & Signia.

The ks8 seems to be the nx.

The Phonak Brio 3 seems to match up with the Phonak Audeo b90 312.

I think the Costco latest Resound matches the Resound lynx 3D.

Yes, they don’t make it easy or clear, on purpose I’m sure.

That is part of the problem I am having. I would like to find an equivalent Data Sheet for the Rexton Emerald 80 8C but can’t find it. Also having a hard time translating the Rexton jargon. The best I have found is somewhat dated (2015) and at this link. I have learned a bit from it.

The 8C is also the same as the Signia nx. You will find more information on the Signia site.

Was there a specific issue you were researching?

Here’s the Rexton data sheet. It’s from the fitting software. In my view, Rextons (and Kirkland) are very similar to Signia NX, but the software doesn’t provide quite the finetuning ability that the Signia’s do. Whether anybody could notice a difference??

Thank you for the Rexton Data Sheet. That is helpful. It seems to indicate that the lack of the Tinnitus masking is the only significant difference.

When you say that the Rexton software does not have quite the finetuning ability that the Signia’s do, are you referring to something like this:

HD Music preset programs - 3 (less on Rexton and KS?)
Noise management - In the Signia there are a number of adjustment steps. Would the Rexton & KS have less?

Don, I find the Signia information much better explained and detailed. I’m just wondering if it is safe to assume everything works the same in the KS 8.0 model.

No, KS8 has the same settings for those. I’ve heard the theory that there are differences but I haven’t personally come across them.

I think they are the same for those. I’m going from memory with my KS7s. Same idea as what you mention, but the ones you mention happen to be the same. I think wind noise management had more settings for example. Again, I really question if one could tell the difference, but there are subtle differences. I have KS7s and trialed Signia NX. I wasn’t wowed at all. They seemed very similar to the KS7s. However, when I switched back to the KS7s I did notice a difference–not better or worse–just different and I don’t have words to describe the differences.
