Hi,
I have searched the threads and have not found that folks seem to have trouble with the knock-off Hi-Pro connecting to Hi-Pro configuration program in windows 10 Pro.
I have had it running well in the past and know my setting are correct - my com port is set to 3 etc.
After a month or so of not using it I am trying again. I keep getting the message from the Hi-Pro configuration program that it found the device but could not connect to it probably because fitting software was running.
I used task manager in to clear out the Starkey modules that were running and have gone as far as to do a clean win 10 install on a separate SSD then reinstalled the Hi-Pro USB configuration/driver program with no success.
Have you gone through your Starkey software to select the USB HiPro?
If you unplug the USB connection on the HiPro, boot the computer, then plug the HiPro back in, does the computer recognize it?
Have you checked for HiPro updates?
Does anyone know what serial driver it uses? You might have something else on those COM ports. I would look in the Device Manager at everything in Ports category (also, select View Hidden Devices on top menu).
Generally Windows is pretty good if you uninstall the device in DM then replug it, it should pick the device back up. Maybe reboot in between. Also of concern maybe is that the device uses it’s own driver and it’s not properly “digitally signed”.
