Hi,
Newbie here. I was programming my Phonak P70 using Hi-Pro 2 and Phonak Target software. Everything was going good and then suddenly the connection was dropped and Hi-Pro 2 was…dead. It was a bit hot at the back. Been trying to reconnect it but the power is not turning on. My laptop detects the Hi-Pro 2 each time I reconnect the USB cable, but no power on the device. Was anyone able to troubleshoot this issue? Many thanks in advance!
Why not just go wireless, the Noahlink wireless programming device is very cheap now, throw the old HiPro in the top drawer for another day
Hi. Noahlink only works with wireless HAs. Rest of the HAs would still need HI-Pro or similar.
Yep that’s right, so you have the ITE or CIC type, bummer they still sell a non wireless version in the Paradise platform, those HiPro’s are getting hard to find at a reasonable price now as well.
Did you try taking the cover off to see it there’s a internal fuse to replace.
Well, I’m now trying to get it replaced as it is a new device. If the seller doesn’t agree to replace, then I’ll check for the internal parts. Thank you!
Ok then good luck, if you paid with PayPal you shouldn’t have any issues on returning for a refund.
Even if you get a refund it might be worth checking out whether a part van be replaced. Iirc, the parts in my serial HiPro are really robust, mostly hole through board connectors, glass fuses, little to no SMD’s. I once left it running for a few months without getting failures. (Apparently, some paper on top of the device obscured the LEDs and only after noticing that the device was warm, did I realize that it had been running since the previous time that I used it.)
Thank you for your reply. I won’t get the full refund. The seller has advised me to change the USB port at the back of the device. I will try that.
