Hi, I think my problem is an education one not a device problem. I have worn HA (Jabra pro 20–Costco) for a year now. They changed my life. BUT I have “pairing” issues and am technology limited.
I understand bluetooth can only pair with one device at a time. Grrrrr. So when I put in my HA I pair them with my phone app (iPhone and watch).
But later when driving my car and a call comes in, I see my caller’s pic on m car display but when I answer, they can’t hear me and I can barely hear them. I can’t adjust the volume on my HA or I will hang up. My car volume is normal per radio. I have KIA Niro.
What can I do to resolve this?
Unpair from Jabra app and pair to car before I drive off? My car is recognizing my contacts and phone.
Don’t answer and let it go to voicemail?
Better ideas PLEEEEASE…I just want us all to play nicely.
I set my phone to do not disturb when driving, and i don’t pair my phone to my jeep’s entertainment center either. I ran in trouble with pairing my phone to the entertainment center, due to my phone being connected to the entertainment center anytime it was near the vehicle and ignoring the aids.
I normally do not connect the HA’s to car audio system/BT. HA’s to car are not perfect and it could be the car audio system or BT.
You need to check how the Jabra Pro-20 is connect to your iPhone. Is Jabra P20 made for iPhone (MFI) or Android system. If you can hear the call from Jabra P20 thru your iPhone and the other party can also hear you then it is perfect. Ask the Audi to set up the Jabra P20-Iphone first then you can hear the caller and takh to him via the HA’s or iPhone microphone.
I disconnect the car audio/BT connection with the HA’s (Oticon More or Phonak Naida). Oticon Xceed - Iphone (MFI) & Phonak Naida - iPhone (BT).
I can communicate via the phone while in the car.
I guess the phone connection to car, can be useful for hands free communication, and speakerphone via car speakers when other passengers are involved. However, you yourself, don’t need that, since your HAs give you hands free communication! I agree that you should just abandon the car connection… keep just using the phone… it will work better and simpler this way.
If the OP is using Android Auto or Apple Car Play, pairing the Jabra to the car should not be necessary.
I have to “disconnect” in bluetooth settings otherwise I get ring tone in both head unit and HAs, but HAs have priority for calls and I actually prefer this because it’s private.
