Hearing Test Results Opinion?

Hello Everyone,

I recently done a hearing test (left side is my right ear and left side is my right ear :P). The audiogist said that i have very good hearing. A little bit loss at my left ear but that loss was also years ago the same. What is your opinion?

I am 26 next month 27 years

I would agree with the audiologist that you have pretty good hearing. Did a particular concern motivate you to get your hearing tested?

What’s the cause of that left sided loss?

I recently started riding motorcycle and wanted to get custom made earplugs for the wind noise because i did nog liked that during my period of taking lessons. So i try to avoid the highway as much as i can. When in the store for my appointment for measuring for the custom earplugs i thought lets take a look at my hearing when i am here.

Its my dominent ear which i normaly use for everything (if that makes sense). But also had tubes in my ears when i was a child because i did not hear very well. I rememberd after surgery that every was like max volume. Think that is one of the reasons. But don’t know for sure.

Ah, sure, could be. I wouldn’t expect the perceived loudness of everything once your ears were cleared out to cause any damage, but chronic fluid issues that lead to tubes, and then the tubes themselves, can result in some scarring in the middle ear system that can cause a bit of loss. Could have been something else, too. It’s very mild and if it has been the same for years not a concern. Just get it checked now and then to be sure it’s holding stable.

Earplugs for riding your motorcycle are a good idea. Good for you, protecting your ears. :+1:

You really should have a QuikSin performed to find your Signal to Noise Ratio loss. There are people using hearing aid solely to improve your Signal to Noise loss. At first glance of the audio, no you don’t need hearing aids. But if the Signal to Noise Ratio loss is bad enough it would be worth trying.

People here could only dream of that result.
How about …mufflers… on those loud pipes. I hate the sound of those bikers roaring around. I would have no sympathy if they are experiencing hearing loss.

I also had tubes on a couple occasions. I actually have one test result from childhood and it showed a bit of a drop around 500hz.

I ride my motorcycle for easy, smooth riding in the countryside. With standard normal pipes. No super akrapovic noise makers. I don’t like that either
