Hearing distort music

Has anyone been successful with obtaining good quality sound for music? I have given up one of my most cherished pastimes due to flat, scratchy, caterwauling sounds that I can obtain through my hearing aids. So far, these HAs have been Signia and Kirkland. I hesitate to spend big bucks for replacements if this noise is to be my permanent fate. Is there help out there?

To be honest hearing aids have never been designed for music only speech. Some say widex aids are better for music. I am having much better luck with my INTENT1 aids than ever before.

If you haven’t had a new hearing test in the last 6 months, go to Costco and get one. They may be able to adjust the Kirkland hearing aids and add a music program.

You will also have the option of trying one of the latest hearing aids. Costco offers a 180 day return policy. So that takes out the risk of buying new hearing aids that aren’t helping. Note that the latest Philips hearing aid, 9050 will be out sometime this year.

You can also post your new audiogram here when you get it and get some additional comments…

You’ll only need to do a little bit of research to see that it’s a bug bear for a lot us, getting music sounding how we like is a work in progress, however as mentioned you need a dedicated music program, read through the links and see if you can get your Audiologist to work with you to achieve the best results possible otherwise the only other option is a DIY project, which I’ll add is quite easy to do.
