Hearing Care Solutions (HCS) & Aetna

With Medicare open enrollment going on till December 7, I have been researching plans that have the best hearing aid benefit. I’m in Bradenton, FL & I understand that all these Medicare plans are different for all areas of the country. The Aetna plan uses HCA & they are offering $1250 per aid or $2500/pair.
This sounds like an attractive benefit. My research has hit a dead end because when I call HCA, they don’t answer the phone. After about a 2 minute hold a recording comes on to leave your # & someone will call you back. I’ve have left 2 messages & no return call …it’s been 3 days. Why would Aetna want to steer its customers to a company like this. I suspect these “middleman companies” inflate the actual price of the hearing aids…which wipes out the $2500 allowance that Aetna is enticing its customers to enroll into their plan. Has anyone dealt with HCA & or used the Aetna hearing benefit?

Have you considered going to a Costco. They charge $1500 for the KS9’s which are much like the Phonak Marvel M90 aids. Sometimes it can be cheaper to pay out of your pocket than to play the insurance games. And while some insurance companies will not pay direct to Costco, they will accept claims for reimbursement if you pay out of pocket first.

I do have an appointment@ Costco…They only had openings after Dec 7…which is after open enrollment. Costco might be the best option. I’ll have to seek out a insurance plan that allows submitting receipts. Aetna uses this HCA Company…which has been unresponsive

Call Aetna and tell them you are interested in their insurance, but HCS will not take or return your calls.

I bought from HCS this summer and they had great service. Originally went with Phonak M90 r, returned for
M70 13. No problem getting difference back then returned the M70s and had check in my hand within 30 days. If you want to private message me I can give you the phone number I have, it was always answered
