Hearing aids/Auto Hands Free BT/and Waze

Just got my hearing aids today and had an issue first thing driving away from Costco. My cell phone blue tooth (BT) connected with my car as usual upon startup. I turned on my Waze app, (Driving directing app), I heard a lot of hash and clicking in and out from my phone giving driving directions. I also had a problem when my wife called on the cell phone. At first I couldn’t hear her. I’m guessing the phone was confused? Go through car BT/car speakers or, the hearing aid? Eventually the car hands free took it. At this early point I’m not sure if I should disconnect my cell phone BT from the car, or my cell phone BT from my hearing aid. As it stands I left it as it was as I was driving and did not want to get distracted an in an accident. With my cell phone connected I could hear verbal instruction from my Waze app to not get lost. I guess I will have to play with it a bit to see what works the best. I’m thinking, not letting the cell phone connect to BT?

typically, I find that my car takes over from my hearing aid BT automatically. However, given the choice, I would disable the hearing aid BT and use the car BT. That way, your HA’s are working to hear everything while you are driving (not just your phone) and you can adjust your car stereo volume as needed if you can’t hear a call.

Evil.

In ios10 the drag from the bottom has two pages on my 5s. Going to the other page lets you switch from aids to phone and back as needed. You don’t have to disable the pairing.

iOS9 had that too…yea you don’t have to turn anything off…just switch bluetooth sources. My phone seems to switch to my car BT automatically. Still, better to use car BT, so you can hear better.

Im with you guys my car will pick up the BT when I get in and will dial but the HAs will then turn on and I hear all in the HAs not the car… This is becoming to much tech sh*t
