Actually, Music programs were indeed created for listening to music through speakers, or over ear headphones. Streaming music, is mostly ok using the general program since the mics arenât used, so no outside ambient sounds, or other acoustic phenomena will interfere.
The big problem is musicians have much much more defined needs based on their instument, so the mfg music program needs to be fine tuned, or a custom program should be created.
Several users on this forum have created programs for their acoustic, and electric guitars as well.
Just use the search tool at the top right for programming music info in addition to the helpful links @tenkan provided.
EDIT @rasmus_braun can you create a pinned post for the links @tenkan provided?
Youâd make @jeffrey and many others very happy!
Thanks for your input! I would add that for me, a recent Oticon HA firmware update has taught me that I will never again create a live music program by modifying the âMyMusicâ setting that Oticon uses (or any manufacturerâs music program for that matter). The firmware update completely wiped all of the hard work I did with my audiologist and my instruments. Moving forward my live music setting(s) will be based on a custom program that wonât be subject to manufacturer interpretation of what a music program should be.
Radical thought. Set one ear for music and one for speech. Worth a shot maybe?
that would drive me insane in no time
I personally wouldnât do that, even if it was possible. I would rather give up speech intelligibility to also get rid of distortion of the sound of my instruments that happens in the MyMusic setting. Live music is its own special set of requirements. A general speech program distorts live musical instruments, at least for my situation with high woodwinds.
We havenât had time to play around with the DIY software because of work obligations, but my main goal will to get rid of the âholeâ where the mids are supposed to be in the music setting. I am unhappy with that in general (for music purposes) and I suspect it will also help a bit with speech intelligibility.
General plan is to use my #4 setting slot as a custom music program NOT based on the MyMusic program but rather just a ârawâ unspecified template. When we finally get something up and running for testing I will let you all know how it goes.
