How does the KS6 stack up against the Rexton trac 42? I am aware of the price difference.

whats your audio-gram look like and are you attached to an iSomething all the time?
I do not have the audio-gram but will get one from the tech person. He did say my hearing loss is mostly in the high frequencies. Generally I hear male voices ok but have difficulty hearing the soft spoken words.
I do not have an Iphone and do not plan on getting one. I hear fairly well with my home phone and an android Samsung.
I do have a 5th generation Ipod that I would like to use as a remote for adjusting volume, changing programs.
BTW, thanks for your reply.

Hi, I presently have some 5 year old Oticon Agil’s that I want to replace in September. These use a neck receiver that doesn’t last much longer than 4 hours or so when streaming from the tv. I have been looking at the Resound Linx2 for replacement. They have the blue tooth installed within the hearing aids and therefore no neck receiver. Great advancement!..Or is it? Is there anyone out there that can give me an update as to how well the Resounds are working? Good quality sound? Battery life? etc, etc. All reply will be MUCH appreciated, Thank you.
The audi at Costco fitted me with Rexton Finesse CIC. I’m less than 2 months in to the trial period and it’s clear these aren’t going to work for me. I told him today I want to return them and try the Trax 42.
That’s no problem, but he wants me to return these and all the accessories, get my refund, then order the Trax and wait a week or so. Why should it work that way?
Why can’t I order the Trax 42, pay on my card for the second set, then wait till the new ones come in before I return my old ones? If I’m willing to cover both with my card and I still have plenty of time left in the trial on the first set, why would that be a problem?
Is what he wants to do standard Costco policy?
I don’t know. But, if your card/finances can carry the weight, I’d tell him to charge me for the new ones and I’ll return the rest for credit when they arrive. I don’t see how they would refuse that.
I think it is standard Costco procedure. Also be careful you don’t lose them. Loss is covered under warranty. But only one time. In other words, you lose them/you bought them.
It was a misunderstanding. He let me charge the second pair to my card and keep the first pair while I wait. So it’s all good.
What would you suggest for my audiogram that is carried at Costco? And do you know the prices for your suggestions?
i think he forgotaboutu…
Does anyone know if Costco carries the Phonak Naida UP? This HA was recommended by my audi at Kaiser, but they’re way too expensive to buy there. I don’t see it listed on the Costco website.
Thanks!
you know a road trip to costco for a free audio-gram and consultaion might help you out. the trax 42 with the ‘sp’ receiver will more than cover you lost at $2800 for the pair.
Costco doesn’t carry the Naída Q-UP, but they do have a very similar model called Brio P-UP.
I will check them out. Thanks!
Hi, Im a newbie to this Forum, can’t find post a post/question in the program
Currently wearing Oticon Epoq P with receiver in ear, I got these in 2009 and obviously they are wearing out, the left was replaced twice and had issues with receiver as
well. The molds worked ok after the audio changed I got different material I think silicon but it seemed it undermind hearing quality, not loud or clear. I had several remakes
of molds and it just got worse and I put old mold in so I could hear.
My problem is mostly with the left one I get during summer a lot of condensed water on the receiver even after one hour being outside, sometimes receiver just stops
working or shuts of and turns off…
I have on July 8th an appointment at Costo in Nashua, I hope they have a good audio, I am looking at 3 brands to replace Oticon and helpfully get a better hearing.
I felt I could never really well hear with oticon, at times very high pitchy almost metallic sounds any high frequency would just disturb speech understanding, I can’t differe some letters like b,f, s I had many adjustions and was never fully happy cause they tested me then in a quiet room, as soon I left and was in the outerworld then I only
could compare.
My audio said I need a replacement and suggested Phonak Audeo 70V , she gave me a model for 2 minutes and said how do you feel (in a closed and quiet room again), how
can one test a hearing aid with no noice or sound around!! Phonak sounded like a dolby system with bass when she spoke also my voice sounded like from a radio…
Anyway, if you see my audio curve and are experienced with hearing aids brands, what would you suggest to look for.
I have obviously problems in a noisy surrounding, I hear noise from the back of my head but no speech in front of me.
I had 3 settings for normal, noise, phone.
I would love to have hearing amplified in front of me and not at the back, I can never say when I hear a bird singing where the sound comes from. Music sound sometimes
strange, although oticon had a Bluetooth I didn’t receive that wire.
For any helpful tips to look for when I go to Costco, how do I try models, and what is the difference between a tulip or power receiver, I always had molds but sometimes
infection and the moisture problem, I also have issues with feedback when greeting people or when mold looses a bit or wearing a hat. I don’t have tinnutis, but I do have
narrow canals.
Im interested in Rexton 42, Phonak Audeo/Brio, Bernafon, I need something that can support speech well. What is good about Bernafon Juna 9? Are hearing aids with rechargeable batteries a plus vs inserted batteries, how long do they last?
I appreciate any response and thank you!!
Sunny Skies:
I am an end user with a Bolero Q90-M13, Roger 15 receiver, Roger Pen and iCUBE.
I Can get the (new) pen to green/connect to the receiver, NP. But no sound through
the pen. Book says to program using iCube to set my Q90 to FM/DAI/EXT/AUX
(I can not find that setting… is that my problem ?)
I have selected both Rec’vr and Pen in iCube setup and entered their S/N.
Please point me to proper documents or write out what-to-do.
I am on an island in the Caribbean, with only 1 audi… who does not promote the Phonak brand,
so I am on my own with the iCUBE and Target software !
Thank you!
Kenny
Hi-First of all thank you for doing this-highly appreciate all your informative posts.
I would like to seek your opinion on my hearing aid
I currently own a Naida S by phonak
My audiogram is
250 500 1000 2000 4000 8000 12000
R 50 50 60 70 80 90
Left 50 70 60 70 90 100
I am thinking of going to Costco as have had horrible echo and not very good hearing.Have had these for almost 3 years and have had multiple programmings with no help.
What would you suggest?
I often travel and live overseas(India)- will programming there be an option? If so what model would you suggest
Thanks again
You have an incredibly difficult hearing loss to fit. Expectations for success with hearing aids in your case is only “fair” unfortunately. What are your Word Recognition Scores? It looks like you went with Kirkland Signature 6, great choice! How are you doing with them?
The most important part of the hearing aid fitting is ensuring that it is set up correctly using real ear verifications. Phonak has great high power hearing aids, so you can’t really go wrong with them. I am unsure if India has a Costco. If not, make sure you work with your hearing professional thoroughly until you go back for any extended periods of time so you’re not stuck. Keep in mind, that even with a perfect fitting, the product is still an “aid” not a correction.

I was hoping to read some of your input, perhaps you didn’t see my post, ( my comment is the 5th scrolling up) I’m still new here to navigate. Anyway, Im going to Costco now, and see how it will go, not sure this will be my final stop, depending on how any of the brand can help me hearing speech better. I learnt tat my audiogram 2011 shows I have a cookie bite hearing loss… something about frequencies I still don’t understand… I will get a new audiogram today, perhaps it has changed (worse). Thanks for any input that you might have.
