Hearing Aid Hard Reset?

Hearing Aids, hard Reset?

I bought some used hearing aids for my son, who has been diagnosed with hearing loss. I found a great deal on Oticon OPN hearing aids, which were sold by a man who unfortunately lost his father. When I connected them, the name of his father still appeared, and I couldn’t find any option to reset them so they could be personalized for my son. Furthermore, the hearing aids have a “Find My” option, and I assume they are still linked to the deceased father’s account. The son does not have access to any of his father’s belongings, so he can’t remove the hearing aids from the app. Is there any way I can perform a “hard reset”/Factory Reset on them? On top of that, i read that you Can DIY program Them through a Oticon Software with a NoahLink, is that nesecarry if the hearing aid is already functioning through Bluetooth? Thanks in advance, and have a great new year!

Hello! Thanks for the answer, do i also need a Noahlink to Hard Reset Them so they are like brand new in terms of the App that Can be used for Them? I cant Seem to be allowed for using the “find my” in case he lost Them which i know he Will haha… I suppose that’s because the old owner is still connected to them, is there any way I can do it without the Noah link or that is also nesecarry?

How old is your son??!

DO NOT TRY TO DIY YOUR SON’S HEARING AIDS.

Your son needs appropriately programmed hearing aids. If finances are a concern, talk to a pediatric audiologist about options and they will help you.

My 11-year-old son has hearing loss. I have his audiogram and the recomended settings from the ear doctor. Usually here, the doctor sends patients to an audiologist for hearing aid programming, but since the audiologist is too expensive and I already have the recommended settings, I’m looking at doing it myself.

What country are you in, most government services for children are free or reduced cost (subsidized) the problem for doing this yourself, is the risk of damaging your son’s hearing, it’s very easy to make things worse if they are not set up correctly, as already mentioned I don’t recommend you do this!

Can you at least go TALK to the audiologist about options before deciding that they are too expensive? How are you going to confirm that your son’s hearing aids are actually outputting what they are supposed to be outputting, especially used? Is the school going to accept a letter from you to set up the FM system, or will your doctor send that letter for you?

But yes, tenkan is right to ask what country you are in. Access is different in different places.
