One of my KS8 (Costco) aids has stopped working. My understanding is that if you used the Costco Citi card to purchase the aids it extends your warranty by two years. Has anyone tried to use that? When I mentioned it to my Costco Audi, she appeared to know nothing about it.
I’ve never used it, but the agreement is with CitiBank. I think you basically send the aids back for repair and submit bill to CitiBank and if you’ve got proof or purchase you should be good to go. Call the number on back of card and they should be able to talk you through it.
Yes. I have the KS6 aids. Original warranty had expired, but the cost of replacement aids was reimbursed by the credit card company swiftly and easily.
Back when Costco was still using the American Express card as their partner card, it also had the extended 2 year warranty similar to the Costco VISA card right now. I was able to get my warranty-expired hearing aids repaired and get the repair cost reimbursed by American Express with no problem.
Unlike the OP’s Costco audi who claimed to know nothing about it, the kicker in my case was that it was the Costco HIS who knew about this and suggested that I took advantage of it since my Costco hearing aids needed repair service and the original warranty on them had expired.
Sense I got from the one Costco hearing aid person I talked to about this is that they don’t want to make any misleading claims and want you to talk to the Credit Card company.
As I recall, when I had to have one repaired under the extended warranty, I just took it in to CostCo for the repair. The way they code it, it will post to your credit card, and then a credit is posted as well, the SAME MONTH, so they cancel one another out.
I have KS6s – the right one is failing (works intermittently). The Costco HA person said that the manufacturer (Resound) would not repair HAs that were older than 5-years so I should consider having them repaired while it’s still an option.
I ended up purchasing KS9s (I’d hoped to be able to wait for KS10s) and had my KS6s (which will be 5-years old in a few weeks) sent out for repair so I’d have decent backups.
I pick them up next week. Price will be $160 each (I think that’s what I was quoted) PLUS I had to pay for new custom molds (~$40/each).
I bought the KS6s (and the KS9s) with my Costco credit card. Am I (or will I be) entitled some kind of refund? Would appreciate any details – or a link to where I can learn more.
Thanks tons!

Here’s a link to info on the extended warranty through the Costco credit card. Citi® Card Benefits
Thanks a bunch, MDB!
@DanTheMan Yes you are correct. Extended Warranty is under Shopping Benefits. I attach a screen print.Costco Citi.pdf (4.2 MB)
Yes, I have done it. Two years ago I got my failing Brio 2’s replaced at Costco just 1 month short of the 3-yr warranty expiry. No questions and no hassle, other than going without them for a month or so.
Edited to Add…
Doh…, I misread the OP’s question. Mine were replaced under the original manufacturer’s warranty, I didn’t have to use the additional warranty provided by the credit card.
