Has anyone self-fit a TruHearing branded hearing aid?

Hi Mbodo, I recently bought a Noahlink wireless on Ebay for 170.00. there are also less expensive offerings. Just be aware there are 2 versions, Noahlink Wireless, and Noahlink wireless 2. the second one is the new version.

So this is of no relevance? Both do exactly the same thing so doesn’t matter which.

Noahlink wireless 2 is the current Model. This info is from HIMSA website:
HIMSA is happy to announce that Noahlink Wireless 2 has now been released, and is available for distribution in these countries. Noahlink Wireless 2 replaces the original Noahlink Wireless, which is now out of stock.

Noahlink Wireless 2 has been designed to be backwards compatible with Noahlink Wireless.

In addition, Noahlink Wireless 2 also provides the following benefits:

  • Support for Bluetooth BLE 5.3 (vs BLE 4.2)
  • A robust USB-C connector

Yep well aware of the spec’s, but as I was saying it makes absolutely no difference to what they do, they work exactly the same, they only updated because their suppliers support for the 4.2 chips could no longer be supplied, cheers

To the OP’s question. Yes. I own 2 sets of TruHearing Aids. My original Truhearing premium th 5 that i got from the Audi for 3000.00 USD. And recently aquired TrueHearing premium th 6 that i bought from Ebay in Open Box condition for 300.00 USD. Economic reasons prevent me from taking these to the Audi to be fit and adjusted. So i decided to give DIY a try. Both the th 5 and th 6 are fully compatible with Connexx 9.12 software. i have made some small adjustment to my original HAs.And have done a first fit and minor tuning to the th 6. The th 6 was also due for a firmware upgrade which was successfully completed with Connexx. I am a total beginner at this , I just read through the self fit DIY school documentation and watched several Audiology Online videos. This gave me basic knowledge to make me confortable to give this a try. I believe other TrueHearing aids will also be compatible, like the TruHearing th 7 which is the current model in this line. I just wanted to report this out, because i’m sure other people wonder about fitting TrueHearing hearing aids. Btw, i used the Noahlink wireless tool to wirelessly connect my Ha’s to my computer. Worked like a charm! good luck.

according to TrueHearings’ web site they do not lock their aids.

jeffrey - So using Connexx, when i initially picked up my data from my hearing aids, the aids listed were Truhearing. I decided to experiment with a “first fit” and all I could see was Signia aids. I used the Signia equivalent to complete the “first fit” with no problem other than they now say Signia aids. Just curious if Truhearing has their own customized Connexx software?

No, they use Signia Connexx software because they are exactly the same as Signia models, only with a different name.

true that. as long as you are able to connect your aid to connexx via noahlink wireless, connexx should recognize the aids as truhearing. if so, you should just be able to continue with first fit without selecting any aids from the list. I have done this with truhearing th 5 and truhearing th 6 aids. what model is yours ?

Pretty sure the 7 (premium) I picked them up on a eBay auction, so cheap I couldn’t resist

TH Premium 6 RIC LI T

Yep, tried it and your are correct, I did not have to select a hearing aid brand/type.

Continuing the discussion from Has anyone self-fit a TruHearing branded hearing aid?:

Update: Just received today in the mail a pair of TruHearing TH 7 Premium that i bought used on Ebay. I got a great deal on them and thought this is my best chance to get the latest generation of hearing aids. In this Case they are the same hearing aids as Signia pure Charge&Go 7IX . they use the same Connexx software as signia, They also took a firmware update that enabled the LE audio feature. anyway just wanted to report that are no issues using current truhearing aids with connexx software. was able to update firmware, perform a first fit with no problems.

good to hear . here is a tip i discovered: truhearing has a companion app to install on your phone. But , I found that the signia companion app will also connect with truhearing aids. I am using the Signia app. because it has Signia Assistant, which allows you to make small programming changes on the fly. ie, if you are out and having problems withs speach intelligibility, you can make small programming changes in the assistant feature. The truhearing companion app does not have this feature, just thought i would pass it on.

Yes as I mentioned to others that truehearing are exactly the same as the Signia models, only difference is in name and this is why Signia Connexx software and the App work as intended.
