Hal-Hen Super Dri Aid

…the one with the beads…can I put the aids in with the batteries, or not??

Open the battery doors but you can leave the batteries in. There are better products out there. You should look into dry and store.

I have only used it when in the tropics, for the humidity. I had not tried it out at home…northern snow area.

Moisture in hearing aids is just not caused by the environment. As a matter of fact moisture problems are more commonly caused by you, the wearer of the aids. Whether living in the tropics or the cold wintery north your aids are still being subjected to moisture. The ear is a warm moist place constantly subjecting your aids to moisture. And moisture and hearing aids are not compatible. You should be storing your aids whenever you are not using them, like when you sleep, in something like dry and store which will dry them out and sterilize at the same time.

I will get a better product when I return to the States…thanks for the advice.

The aids have been in the jar for over a week with the battery door open. I put them on and the batteries are dead. Is this because I have not worn the aids for a few weeks or is it because of the dryer??

Most likely because you have not worn them. The smaller the battery the more prone they are to discharging like this, as hearing aid batteries run down anyway, whether in use or not. Obviously not quite as fast as if you are using them on full power all the time, but something like a p10 battery would only last a week max anyway, whether in or out of your ears. My old 312 batteries used if anything to die faster when I didn’t wear them, and I didn’t put them in a drying kit just a normal case.

HA batteries in driers will die faster than normal usage.
Batteries should be removed before storing the HA’s in a drying unit.

That’s not been my experience, over 8+ years of using and not using a Dry and Store. Battery life seems unaffected.

Sorry Sylvester but I disagree. I see no difference what so ever. Dry and store even says it’s okay to leave batteries in, just make sure the door is open
