Going from Oticon OPNS1 to More1 aids

Yeah, I’m going to restore my VA audi’s settings later this week, and see what Genie has to say.

I’m really lucky that my audi knows I’m a DIY’er, and she’s very happy that I don’t bug her too much.

Chuck, no need to be sorry, I’m OK with it.
Please accept my sincere condolences on the passing of your cousin.
Glad you’re recovered from the proceedure, too.

My More1 aids amaze me at times, my wife and I took our scooters out for a long ride, and I didn’t mute my aids and found that I wasn’t overloaded with wind noise or road noise. Here all the time I had been muting my aids and I didn’t need to.

My Audiologist is out of town but I did get an answer to my questions, the More update has to be done by way of the Gene2.

The only throwback with the VA the new Gene2 software with the firmware will most likely not be available until after the first of November contract renewal.

@cvkemp that’s what I was told, last week by Long Beach, VA.
the audi I spoke with was confused when I informed her I had updated mine at home!
We’re wondering what’s going to happen when I come in on the 29th for my next visit, but I’m not even wearing them now, because I’m certain they are defective, so hoping to get an exchange, or move on to Starkey?

I don’t have a windows computer to run the software and my little MacBook doesn’t have the needed power to run windows on Mac. And to be honest I have no intention to update he MacBook, when a iPad is all I need.

I don’t understand having to to wait for the next contract for the firmware updates, to me that is plan BS.

I know, and coming from you, a former IT eng. too.
The only explaination I got is VA updates contracts with vendors Nov & May, and between these periods VA IT dept. won’t upgrade the vendor fitting software.
I told the audi that I spoke to, she could just download it from Oticon, but she said “We’re not allowed”.

Before this virus shut down the VA clinic so hard I was my Audiologist IT I did most of the computer checking and fixing. So it is my understanding that my Audiologist is the one that has to do it now, and he is out of the office hopefully for seminars or vacation and not he virus. He gets back I may get a different answer.

I am trying to do what I promised my dad, he made me promise that when I retired that I truly retire. So I have gotten rid of all of my servers and workstations. I no longer deal with Windows and that is wonderful in itself. I have my iPhone, iPad, Fire Tablet, and an old MacBook Air. I will not be replacing the MacBook, but may upgrade to an IPad Pro with the Magic Keyboard at some point and it will have the Apple M processor.

Things that the firmware update hopefully fixes

At times the right hearing aid unmutes on its own, other times the aids are not in sync as for as mute, unmute, and volume levels. But it seems both aids will always be in sync for programs

I am also having minor issues with connectivity, mostly for my is disconnecting from the app and iPhone when connecting to tv adapter.

I also do want the my music program

Another thing is when my t-coils are enabled the aids mics are disabled, I need them left on.

Please if you have the new firmware please commit on what you know it fixes or improves

Ok one thing fixed. While using my TV adapter my ON app and iPhone are no longer disconnected from my aids

I was having issues with the TV adapter connecting to the More aids but not to the ON APP, so I was unable to make adjustments. Reboot the aids - easiest and fastest for me was to set them in the charger quickly and the connection was made. It has happened 1 time after the v 1.1.1.
You can also use the toggle to cycle off /on. It was happening a lot prior to the update.

My issues was just the opposite, my aids easily connected to the TV adapter but in doing so lost connection with the iPhone and app. It seems that IOS15 may have fixed that issue. My aids aren’t updated and may not be until after November first.

Chuck - my issue is the same as yours (not opposite), perhaps I didn’t state it clearly. It has happened only 1 time since 1.1.1 in 3 weeks. My aids are updated, but not my iPhone. You are the test for IOS 15 :grinning:

OK everyone wish me luck, I ordered an iPhone 13 today. I need a better camera for some of my meetings, and also I am not happy with the SE2020, the battery is already seems to be failing. I am concerned about the possible static in the hearing aids, and possible disconnects. I will not get the phone until mid October at best.
By the way I will say this if you are an Veteran take advantage of the Apple Veterans discount, I believe it is also there for medical, and first responders. And also there is also the trade in program that really helps.
Should receive my iPhone about October 12

Good choice and big upgrade, i currently have the 12 and i don’t experience any static or random disconnects, works steady and amazing. Really mfi thing is great compared to android and it’s my first product from apple. Now i will not go back to android ever i guess haha.

I don’t stream a lot from my phone to my Jabras, but haven’t experience any issues with the phone or iOS 14 and now 15. Looking forward to getting my 13 Pro Max tomorrow.

Please let me know your thoughts. I am go much smaller than you, I am getting the 13 mini. And I also have no experience with the facial ID.

I’m streaming as I type, from my Apple Music rock collection, and after upping the bass in the Jabra Enhance Pro app, I’m liking it. I think the combination of iOS 15 and iPhone 13 have made for a better streaming experience with MFi hearing aids.
