Getting these pesky settings just right!

Yup! Royce! He’s an amazing dog. I just don’t like getting bit. It’s getting better though…I think!

But the enemy for me is habit. I need to store my hearing aids more safely.

Couple of days I have another session with my audiologist! Here’s to more improvements.

@DaveL: Good luck, Dave - I am able to appreciate how hard you’ve been working at this. You’re becoming a savvy HA user, indeed! Congratulations, because it requires a lot of persistence (ask @cvkemp Chuck!).

This may be a storage solution and can dry out any moisture as well.

You don’t need to clear it. Friends and family members are welcome at audiology appointments. Communication isn’t a one-person issue and we jump at the chance to talk to (and educate) our patients’ loved ones.

@Neville: Will that be because those pesky fellers will then have the chance to explain to Herself why Mr SpudGunner needs the $7,000 Oticon More1s instead of the totally unsuitable KirkWood Signatures at Costco for $2,200?

Thanks Neville,
I didn’t think it would be a big issue. Being there will help because of the problem I sometimes have with her voice. Are you an NHS audiologist? Reading this must be a busman’s holiday for you!

I just got my PartnerMic and the good news is that it works. Of course it does! However I’d like to use the myPhonak app on my iPad while playing around with it but I can’t seem to get the app to see the mike. I hope i don’t have to reinstall the app because I’ve just finished setting up several settings. If I have to I suppose I must, but…

Any ideas please. Maybe the first one ought to be to start a new thread?

@rogerinshoreham: Rog, I’m going to flag @Zebras and @kevels55 for you so they are alerted to your questions about connecting with that pesky app. If anybody can help you, it’s they.

Thanks Spudgunner. Good of you.

Have you connected the Aids to the App on your iPad?

I can connect my Aids to the App on both my work iPhone and personal iPhone but I do have to turn Bluetooth off on the one I’m not using.

@Zebras : I think it’s the PartnerMic he’s having trouble getting connected to the app, Zebes. Golly gosh.

@SpudGunner

But don’t the Aids need to be paired to the App to see the Partner Mic, otherwise it won’t see it?

The App will only see the Partner Mic when it’s on as well and paired to the Aids.

The TV Connector is only seen on the App when Aids are paired and TV Connector is on and paired to Aids.

The only thing you’ll see in the App, is when the Aids are in the Partner Mic program.

The Mic doesn’t have Bluetooth to link directly to the App, it has to go via the Aids to see it in the App.

@Zebras: See? I KNEW if anyone could tame that pesky app, you could! Even an Oticonian like me can understand that explanation! Thanks for your lightning-fast reply!

Hi Zebras,
Yes, thanks for the speed of response. As ever, forgive my thickness. My aids are paired to the app. The TV Connector is shown there and I can control it. If I select other programmes using the button the aids I can move through Automatic, T-coil and TV Connector but no PartnerMic. Do I need the aud to create a new setting for me?

Is the Mic on at the same time as you’re on the App?

It won’t show otherwise.

Can’t think off hand if you can make adjustments to the Mic anyway. The only thing I can do is raise the volume of the Partner Mic via the App or the Aids.

The Partner Mic program is separate to Bluetooth and TV Connector so if you need adjustments, the Audi can do it without messing with Bluetooth or TV Connector settings.

TBH, Never tried the Partner Mic, I have Roger On, Roger Select, Roger Pen, Roger Multi Screen, Roger Inspiro, various type (2 & 3) Roger receivers & Roger Installer, but alas no Partner Mic :upside_down_face: methinks Elspeth would kill me if I tried to swing the Partner Mic as well  :upside_down_face: :joy: so unfortunately Jim, I know sweet FA about the Partner Mic, but I believe @Zebras is fairly well acquainted with this, so I shall leave it in her very capable hands… Cheers Kev

Yes, the mike’s on now and I’m looking at the iPad but not seeing the Partnermic. The reason I know this should work is because it is shown on one of the videos that Phonak made show the connection and the ability to change something - I’m assuming it is the same adjustment as you can make to the TV Connx.

What does it show on the App?

Is the Mic connected to your Aids, I assume it is?

Get your wife to wear the Partner Mic in another room and raise the volume and see if she sounds louder when you do it via the App.

It might just say Bluetooth streaming even tho it doesn’t work on Bluetooth.

Even tho I have the M70, I have to use the kids myPhonak App as my Aids are Sky and not Naida so it might be different.
