Hi,
I have an old Widex Dream hearing aid (I haven’t used it), now I need to tune it. After today’s adjustment, when the doctor accidentally deleted the audiogram from the earphone and didn’t have another one (that’s why I haven’t been with him for 7 years), everything sounds like a tin can to me and it’s impossible to listen to it. Unfortunately, there was only a quick adjustment by listening to the tones and the result is horrible. In addition, the environment of a quiet doctor’s office is completely different from that on the street or in an office.
The doctor’s next free appointment is in 3 months, I can’t stand it!
Can someone send me a link to widex compass? The version probably doesn’t matter much because I have an old hearing aid model.
Is there any loop diagram? I’m a very handy service technician, I think I would be able to make a converter from USB to loop
Thanks everyone.
BTW, don’t worry that I will damage my hearing, I know my way around audio technology very well, I just don’t have the necessary SW + HW.
Hi, Just noticed that you are a registered provider. Why do you need to get the software from me. I thought that all the HA software was available to providers. In any event, please send me your personal email and then later I will send a link via personal email. Thanks
Many thanks! I installed Version 4.6 from the zipped file, the installation seemed to complete ok, but when I start the program and sign into the database, I get only a blank window. I am running Windows 11. Any idea what might be going on?
Did you see the pop up asking for the password, which should of been automatically filled in, do you the compass updater installed as well, shouldn’t make any difference if it’s win11 or 10.
Got a screenshot of this, what are you signing into?
Even though I let the program sit there for a long time, nothing else happens. From the Task Manager, I see the program is not generating any Network traffic, occupies 203MB of RAM, and uses minimal CPU cycles.
Ok so you got that log in page and then blank, yeah strange, so you rebooted your PC , how many MB was the complete compass install? How about installing 4.8 instead.
To answer your question, the size of the installed Compass GPS v4.8 folder is 1.22GB. After several repeats of the uninstall-reboot-reinstall cycle without any improvement, I solved my problem in a different way: I created a new Windows user, and installed Compass GPS there. It now works like a charm.
My problem, it seems, was related to Windows. I thought perhaps Firewall settings, although in the end I concluded it was unlikely. I will continue to try to diagnose the problem, but for now I am happily Fine Tuning my HAs, which was, after all, the objective. Incidentally, I am using USB Link to connect, you first need to select it within Compass GPS → Session Start → Compass Setup.
Perhaps my tale will be of some use to others. Thank you for your interest and offers to help.
How strange, having to make a new user just to install software, I’d say something else in windows was the issue, but anyways you got it running and that’s all that matters.
Yes definitely, that’s the ProLink programmer you mean? But yes you need to add the correct programming device your using, it’s easy to change the default as well, but glad your happy with your set up now.
Actually, the Programmer I am using to connect to the HAs is called USB Link. it is a “neck loop” with a USB cable, one of the options under Interface in Compass GPS setup. I think it is the least expensive way to go.
