Feedback Calibration Failing - Resound SmartFit

I sometimes get a failure when performing a feedback calibration using SmartFit on a Resound Omnia 9 HA.

The calibration tone will progressively increase but will still usually fail the operation.

This only happens on one of the HA’s.

The other HA calibrates on the first try at the lowest tone level.

Have you checked the receiver for wax?

Yeah so the sound is leaking out of your mold or dome more then it can handle, need to get a tight fit for good results, possibly could be a wax issue, but I’d try a good fit to begin with.

Changing to closed domes was the solution.

Thank you.

I have same issue as you described. Calibration failed at right ear. Checked wax filter, it’s OK. My HA is resound omnia 7.

It means you need a better fit between your dome or mould and you ear and so it’s not possible for the feedback suppression to prevent feedback at the moment.

Thanks for reply. I added more details for your analysis.
My left aid is success for calibration quickly in one time, but the right one failed even I tried different size domes for several times.
It can perfectly calibrated before. The issue just come in this month.
Do you have any further thoughts?

Okay try swapping the receiver’s over and then rerun the calibration to see what happens, yeah is it a ear canal problem or the HA or something else.
