So, I have P90-Rs, the new MyPhonak App and a TV Connector.
When I connect, manually via the App, to the TV Connector, the HA opposite the side which activates BT, freezes. Only fix is a hard reset. When I change the BT side, then the other side freezes. This suggests to me a software issue.
Whoa. I’ve never had that problem with pairing/streaming my Phonak aids (B-Direct or Marvels) with the TV Connector!
However, like kicking the tires … try unplugging and replugging in the TV Connector (make sure both the connection and power supply are snugly plugged into the unit). Then try to re-pair your aids by first pressing the button on the TV Connector till the BLUE light comes on, and then remove your aids, open/close the battery doors and just either put 'em back in your ears (if you’re close to the Connector) or leave them near the Connector till the GREEN light comes on - which indicates successful pairing, and likely good streaming of audio to BOTH ears.
If one of the aids still balks, I think it’s time to take 'em in for further examination/testing.
I forgot that the TV Connector could be reset. Good suggestion. I upgraded from Marvel to Paradise but did not think I needed to reset the TV Connector. I just paired the Paradise to it.
I’ll try resetting it and see if this fixes the freezing problem with my P90-Rs.
Will let you know what happens after a trial period.
I’m no longer a Paradise wearer but I did have a similar problem with mine that was only resolved by a factory reset of both aids (via the Target utility).
Sequence was
Do the factory reset
Load the prescription back
Reset the TV connector
Pair to phone and TV connector again
I tried the reset steps SteveCh suggested (thank you) but still the same result - the side opposite whichever HA is set to be the Bluetooth HA freezes when using the TV Connector. I also uninstalled the myPhonak app and reinstalled, reset and re-paired everything etc.
I have no problems using the Roger Select or PartnerMic. It seems to be something to do with Bluetooth but I’m not totally sure. I am pretty sure it is not a hardware issue though. My TV Connector did not have any problems with my Marvels and the previous myPhonak app. So the issue seems to be something to do with either my new Paradise and/or the new myPhonak app. Again, I don’t think it is a hardware fault with the new Paradise - I tried a third one and the same issue occurred with all three HAs - whichever one is NOT the assigned BT HA is the one that “freezes”. And, if I leave the new MyPhonak app closed and cycle through programs to engage/disengage the TV Connector the HA does NOT freeze - suggesting that it is the app.
I can just use the Roger Select to connect to my TV setup but I would like to have been able to just use the TV Connector for that instead of having to plug and unplug the Select every time I want to take it somewhere else.
Can anyone on the forum who has the same equipment that I do and who has no problem confirm that it works fine for them?
A pair of P90-R HAs, Roger Receivers installed, a Roger Select, TV Connector V2, PartnerMic. And the new MyPhonak app.
Just read today on the FB HA Forum that at least one or two other HA wearers are having this exact same problem.
I returned the P90-Rs that I had recently purchased due to this issue and have reverted back to my M90-Rs. Hopefully Phonak will figure this issue out in due course. Or not.
