Ear molds have an odor — how to clean?

Yeah, I’d be suspicious of an ear that had a marked smell.

Clear out the ear and then do a vinegar/water flush for 5 days so long as it doesn’t sting–vinegar can knock out an incipient infection. If it stings, that’s more evidence that the ear isn’t quite right and you should perhaps check with your doctor. Or if you know in advance that the skin is compromised (e.g. by psoriasis), skip the vinegar flush and see about having that treated instead.

@Neville Thank you very much.
I did have an ear swab 14 months ago and the left one had fungus or bacteria, so I’ve had to follow a doctor treatment, then I’ve done another swab (they did push the swab too far in my left one, which did reduce my hearing on that side, and was painful for several weeks afterward, and is still painful to a lesser degree) after the treatment, and the result came back OK.
This time around no swab, but I was told by both the nurse and the pharmacist that the smell is normal.
I’ve been given Otomize ear spray for wax build up on the right ear, and I’ve been told to use it on the left as well, I will see what’s the result at the end of the treatment.
Not sure how I can use my HA after I’ve used the spray!!!

Oh, that’s not a wax softener, that’s medicated.

I think if you spray it in and then wait a few minutes and wipe the entrance of the ear, your hearing aid will probably be fine. Might have to change the domes a bit.

Yes it is, but the nurse who prescribed it, told me that I’ve got a pool of wax near the ear drum in my right ear and she seemed really worried (I wasn’t, since I didn’t have any issues on that side).
Anyways, thank you very much for your help.
