Ear got Blocked

Almost 10 days ago, I forgot to block my ears while showering. As a result, some water got into my right ear (the one I use for hearing speech) and by the following day, it got blocked but just for a few minutes.

Yesterday, I made a stupid mistake and cleaned my ear with an ear cotton bud. Suddenly, my right ear got blocked. Up to now, it’s still the same. I slept on the right side last night, hoping if there’s some water, wax or anything inside would get out but it didn’t help.

Do you have any idea what I should do? There’s no ENT doctor in the hospital today and I hate this feeling of not hearing as before.

dropper bottles are quick alternative tools to flush out the ear.

Fill the bottle with lukewar water and rinse the ear. If you have, you could also dilluge i bit of hydrogen peroxide ( H2O2 ) into the water.

If you have a bottle with the glas dropper (pipette) then hold your head on the left side
to fill warm water from the glas dropper into the right (blocked) ear.
Wait and massage the outer ear with a finger.
After a minute quickly tilt your head to the right and jump with the body and shake your head to throw out the water.
You can hold a tissue to the right ear to catch the water, so you can then examine the tissue if you also got earwax flushed out from your ear.

I use debrox with a rubber syringe to clean out my ears. Drop the debrox in on one side, keep head tilted and let it bubble for a while to soften and loosen any wax. Then after ten min or so, use warm water in the syringe to wash out the canal. If you like, you can repeat the cycle a few times. Rubbing alcohol can be used to remove any remaining water from your ear. All of this assumes you have an intact eardrum. If you have perforation, then I think you’ll need professional help.

last I checked there’s no reason to block your ears when showering, unless you have some unusual water/ear canal infection issue. You need to get your ear wax cleaned out once a year, especially if using deep penetrating hearing aids. Once wax is removed get rid of ear blocks. You won’t need them.
