Dropped phone calls - my Android or Spheres?

I’ve searched and found somewhat related posts but not specifically this. My calls drop all the time now when using my Sphere i90s. Most connectivity posts I’ve seen were from last year. I’ve done the usual - repaired, bandwidth set to fixed, system sound muted. My phone is older but I have no issues streaming from any devices. It’s just the dropped calls that are becoming a real issue. Is there anything short of a new phone (Samsung s25+) that might help? Is Phonak still trying to correct the issue?

Perhaps the Touch/Tap-control ending/dropping the calls.

Is Tap Control enabled on your Audeo Speres?

My understanding is the Spheres are not LE Audio. Please correct me if wrong.

Your S25 is LE Audio.

If the above is correct the S25 needs to have LE Audio turned off. This is what I learned about my pixel 9 Pro. I have to keep LE Audio turned off or my phone calls and streaming will have problems with my non LE Audio Cochlear K2 and N7 processors.

Thanks but right now I’m using a Samsung s9 plus - 5 yrs old. I’ve been considering he s25 plus if the problem is the age of my current phone. This is my current Bluetooth version - 5.0** (LE up to 2 Mbit/s).

Sorry, my mistake. That S9 should work fine with those aids. That’s regular Bluetooth classic.

Does the phone app for your aids function properly?

The touch tap control mentioned earlier has caused problems for some members.

It is. I’ll disable it and see if it works. Thanks!

You audio/fitter can adjust the double tap function and perform a tap training that the TouchTap will perform better.

I reduced the sensitivity of tap but kept it on. But I am cognizant not to remove/put on sunglasses or hats. Even yawning can sometimes do it. I like the tap so I’m careful. It takes discipline.

Bluetooth connectivity is in a transitory state as it moves to newer protocols. My experience is with Samsung devices over the last year going from a galaxy s23 ultra to a galaxy s25 ultra with my jabra enhance pro 20. Early last year the S23 running One UI 6.0 would only work about 10% of the time. By the time One UI 6.1 along with updated firmware for my hearing aids in December they were working well about 60% of the time. When I got my new S25 with the new One UI 7.0, (along with a couple of APP updates) it now works well about 90% of the time. Searching on the boards I also noted that Iphones were reporting similar issues with the newer bluetooth protocols and even a fewer recomendations and a manufacturer reverting back to some of the older protocols. It took me a lot of calls to tech support to both Samsung and Jabra before they stopped finger pointing and started acknoledging some of the problems with the newer bluetooth protocols accross several brands. So my advice is to consult with your support team and don’t give up until you get action. On the Samsung phones, the rumors are that their newer One UI 7.0 should be rolling out to older phones in April and May, so hang in there, but don’t expect rock solid operation for at least another 6 to 12 months while the HA engineers, the phone/Bluetoothe engineers and the APP software engineers work through all of the remaining issues.

Thank you so much Frank. I need to match my expectations to the current technology. My plan is to purchase the s25 plus later this week. I’ll definitely stay in touch with my hearing care provider to make sure he’s getting the info that will impact Samsung devices.

In this case @ahkeller55 was right to ask here @Frank_G
The double tap feature is a beast. Not sensitive enough and it becomes unusable. Too sensitive and it is activated unintentionally. This is why it is configurable as you describe above.

The S25 should work without issues (newer phones supporting LE also support Classic).
