Are there any rumors about Oticon? One Intent per year is not enough. There are no new accessories. No superpower hearing aids. Is Oticon repeating the fate of a crumbling Apple? The shares of Oticon have been falling for a long time.
Who knows for sure? Maybe it will merge with other Danish manufacturer: Resound or Widex.
Oticon was far larger company than Widex in 2018.
Oticon is just a part of the parent company. I have been using Oticon aids for 15 years. Oticon has been around close to 100 years. I don’t see it going away. The Oticon VA reps I have talked to say they are strong and are still working hard to bring out new products. Design and development isn’t a has procedure it is slow and deliberate, I know I was with a number of companies that did development. I don’t understand the hearing aid companies, but companies in general put their research resources where the largest possible return is. And that for hearing aid wearer ls is the mild, moderate, severe and early stages of profound hearing loss. Yes there is a real need for the worst and most profound hearing loss. But the numbers aren’t there for all hearing aid companies to compete in that area. I for one would consider CI if I was that hard of hearing. Yes there are real possibility that it would not help or that I wouldn’t be a candidate. I don’t see Oticon leaving the market, the INTENT aids have only been out about a year. Oticon did just update their ITE aids and more than likely there will be updates or replacements of the INTENT aids in about the next year to year and a half. The push for AI in everything is only a marketing in my opinion. It is expensive, battery usage heavy, that and the push for Bluetooth connectivity is needed but shouldn’t be take over from the repurpose of hearing aids. I for one just want to understand what someone is saying to me face to face. Yes i use Bluetooth, it is my only way to hear a phone call. But anymore calls are mostly replaced by messaging.
That’s a really selective range pick on the shares there. Show the long term. I suspect the DeMant business is pricing in the potential for a further trade war: the moron saying about taking over Greenland and a contraction of its US market due to the value of dollar sales falling.
Plus you seem to have a problem with them because they aren’t listening to you on model upgrades.
I agree on this. Both Oticon and Apple don’t seem to see any more prospects for hardware development. But software development also seems to have reached a dead end. There are no more fresh ideas.
I see something in what Trump is thinking with Greenland. Abd that is the north west passage. There are many reasons why. The biggest is security. A country country place submarines in that passage and strack the US and Canada with nukes before the counter measures had time to react. Also that region is ruch with resources like oil and other ores. It definitely isn’t a stupid idea. And I don’t agree with alot he is doing but atleast he isn’t setting in the White House withbhis head uo his butt.
You all should know that the US was considering the annexation of Canada in the 19th century. The US itself was created out of the British North America, so it would seem logical that the US would continue the push for the displacement of the British Empire out of the North America.
But the US doesn’t need to acquire Greenland. Greenland is part of Denmark, which is a close US security ally. The US already has military hardware on the northwest coast of Greenland.
Unfortunately what despot wants despot usually gets!
So if Donald takes Greenland away, does Oticon have no future in the US?
I agree with you on too.
