Do Jabra models support Auracast?

DO both Jabra Select 500 and/ or Jabra Enhance Pro support Auracast ?
What Bluetooth needed for support?

Both support LE Audio.

So with an assistant, like a high end Samsung phone such as the S23 and S24, they should be able to connect to an Auracast stream.

We are in early innings with Auracast, so expect some bugs.

See Auracast - How It Works | Bluetooth® Technology Website

I think the 500 does. What does the website say?

The Enhanced Pro 20 supports BT LE Audio, the EP 10 supports only BT LE - no Auracast. I believe both EP models support made for iphone and ASHA.

As far as I know, the only Jabra hearing aid to support BT Low Energy Audio/Auracast is the EP20.

Go to the Jabra web site where is says the Enhance 500 supports LE Audio. So all it needs is an assist program to connect, like in the Samsung S23 or S24.

This doesn’t mean that there won’t be incompatibility issues with some devices, as we are in early innings.

Bluetooth LE Audio and Auracast™ are available only with the Jabra Enhance Select 500.

Ok I see that the Enhance 500 does support LE Audio and Auracast. But so does the Enhance Pro 20 which is a clone of the GN Resound Nexia 9. There are numerous web pages about that of course.

In fact from this video where the guy explains it all, the Enhance 500 is the same technology as the Resound entry level Nexia 5 and the Jabra Enhance Pro 20 is the same technology as the Resound premium level Nexia 9.

And both have LE Audio/Auracast.

That’s what I said earlier.

Philbob57 clarified things by saying the older EP10 does not support LE Audio since ipres didn’t say which EP version.

Yeah the EP10 is a Resound Omnia 9 and that doesn’t have LE Audio as you say.

Does Costco Jabra Enhance Pro support Auracast and if it does ,some think it may, how to connect to Auracast broadcast?

The current model, Enhance Pro 20, does support Auracast.

To connect to an Auracast broadcast you need an assistant such as what is installed on the Samsung S23 or S24 phones.

Expect other bands of phones to install an assistant on their new phones in the coming year.

Note that Auracast is new, so expect bugs and compatibility issues.

It doesn’t have to be an OS thing. I connected to an Auracast broadcast with my cheap earbuds through the assistant built into the buds’ app. There’s no reason why Jabra- or any of the hearing aid manufacturers- couldn’t provide that functionality.

Yes, the folks at Bluetooth have said it can be built in software or some other software based application.

Heck, we have seen an iPhone connect to an Auracast broadcast using software. So nothing new there.

Clearly, there is an advantage to having the assistant on your phone as your cell phone is in your possession most of the time, and it comes with a screen to view and select from multiple broadcasts.

The new regulations require it to installed into phones going forward. 2026?

But you still need an assistant, phone or other device, built in or software app.

A great article. Thank you for sharing. Very informative information about the inner workings of Auracast transmissions.
