Does anyone have any information as to when the Danalogic Ambio 77 HA’s were released? Also, if they were available outside the NHS, what would the cost of them be?
Googling hasn’t turned up any useful info so far.
TIA

My local NHS audiology have been supplying patients with Ambio 77’s for around 4 years. I’ve had mine for 3 years, before that Danalogic i-Fit 71. I don’t think you can purchase them in the UK.
Yeah as mentioned they are just rebranded ReSound models, so lots of information to be found about them.
Danalogic Ambio S 77 is the new Ambio that have been handed out for around 18 months. Note the S.
AI Overview
The Danalogic Ambio 77 and Ambio S 77 are both ReSound hearing aids, but they differ slightly in their features and functionality. The Ambio 77 is a more advanced model with potentially greater technological capabilities, while the Ambio S 77 might be a simpler or more basic version, potentially with fewer features.
Here’s a more detailed breakdown:
The Ambio 77 is likely to offer more advanced technology, potentially including features like:
Better noise reduction capabilities.
Advanced sound processing.
Potentially more personalized sound settings.
Thanks for the information all! Very helpful.
The Ambio S 77 has Bluetooth (streaming and phone calls) where the Ambio 77 doesn’t (just works with the App).
All the features of the Ambio (S)mart.
Can safety say AI is wrong in this question.
Danalogic Extend is the latest NHS Aid.
A red hearing aid from the NHS, that’s what I call progress.
Further digging around the depths of the interweb has come up with a Freedom of Information request to an NHS authority which contained the following:
What is the cost to the health board of one hearing aid (item only)?
The cost of a Danalogic Ambio Smart Power behind the ear is £87 plus VAT.
Not a precise match to the Ambio 77, more an approximation of the base price of an instrument.
I had a feeling it would be around £100. I lost one aid and was never asked to contribute to a replacement. Maybe it would be different if I made a habit of it.
Also healthcare is devolved, so there might be different policies across borders. There’s different charging for prescriptions here (free) vs. England. So I can imagine that there will be different ideas about charging for replacement aids across different trusts as well.
I found a seller on eBay that has (lots of ) Ambio 77’s for sale (spares/repair). Described as “I have placed batteries in both hearing aids which turn on and produce noise, the buttons are tested making a beeping sound when pressed.”, I bit the bullet & bought a pair for under £40. Needed the tube adapters too (£5) which was available online. So, if I’m lucky, I may have a pair to start “tinkering around with” without upsetting my NHS AQP!
