Custom earmolds for KS10: SlimTip or cShell

I have decided to give custom molds a try for my KS10’s. Looking for opinions on whether I should go with slim tips or c-shells

Why are you moving to custom molds? (domes not staying in?, feedback issues?, comfort?, want a more occlusive fit?, etc.?) If the domes are not staying in, you’ll likely need something more than a slim tip to keep mold in place. I’d suggest talking to your provider and share what you’re hoping to accomplish by moving to custom molds.

The small domes for the KS10 are too small and the mediums are too large.

If you didn’t have any issues with feedback or domes staying put, slimtips have a decent chance of working. The big issue is shape and angle of ear canal. If slimtips stay put, great. If not, you’ll want something with more to hang onto the ear canal.

Fortunately no issues with feedback or staying in my ear - I’m a little confused about “more to hang onto the ear canal” - I was under the impression that the difference between slim tips and the c-shells was only that the slim tips were “hollowed out” so that the receiver could be easily changed. Is there other significant differences ?
Has any-one tried both and what is your preference ?

I have not tried slimtips. C shell is usually bigger with projections that hang onto your outer ear that help keep mold in place. C shell also allow easily changed receivers (unless using UP receiver which I doubt applies to you. Hollow slim tip will allow a more open fit (large vent) if that’s what you want. My guess is that you’ll be happiest with slimtips since it sounds like size is the only issue.
