Are you saying all that barbecued brisket, biscuits, chili and cornbread and beer affect the waistline measurements of residents of Houston?!?! Shocking! (Entire statement intended humorously, of course.)
My right ear canal is so small that I have to open my jaw wide to get my right HA in. Most domes migrate outward within a couple of hours on the right side. Tulip domes worked best, and allowed a deep placement and great sound, but did also work their way outward eventually.
Tulips are the most comfortable domes I’ve tried (and the easiest one to insert). If they slip, have you tried the signia sleeves? They tend to grab more and have the similar cone shape. The XS one is tiny
Everything is bigger in Texas … that’s what they say
Thanks for the advice! How does it grab more? Rougher texture?
Recently got Widex closed sleeves, they look very similar to the Connexx. Very occlusive… in fact, within a couple of days I lost one in each ear when trying to remove them, as if they were held in by suction. Now I pull my ears in different directions to break the seal before very slowly pulling them out!
Good advice to break the seal! Were you able to get them out without a medical visit?
My audiologist doesn’t care about cross-brand use if a different manufacturer’s domes fit my ears better, but she does like to make sure there’s a tight fit onto the speaker first, to avoid domes taking an unauthorized cruise in my canals. She also wants to make sure that she keeps what I’m using in stock, so she can provide them for free.
Careful probing with tweezers worked! This has only happened once before in the 14 years I’ve been wearing HAs. Widex sleeves on Widex Moments, a tight fit on the receivers but that suction was overpowering!
Now, that is an occlusive fit!
Well, I had impression taken today for tritium slim tips ear molds, should be 2-3 weeks for them to arrive, I will report back once I get them. The venting will be calculated and sized by Phonak based on my prescription.
I hope you mean titanium - because tritium is radioactive.
And liquid…!
Let’s not forget the rarest custom mold material: Unobtanium!
I was thinking about it too… Too shiny for my taste…! And not eco-friendly too.
Which one, the tritium or the unobtanium?
Ah yes, Titanium. Autocorrect strikes again.
Auto-correct and I hate each other. I have to correct so much that it just barfs out onto the page, I sometimes wonder why I let it run at all.
Between my reading vision getting worse and auto correct, these mistakes slip by more often now, getting older sucks!
I don’t know whether it’s that my eyes are faster than my brain, or the opposite. I find myself reading, seeing what I think the word is, but upon rereading it’s a different word. I don’t know if that’s age, or just anticipated contextual reading.
