Costco UK Hearing Test and Aid Fitting Practices

I’ve just noticed that my local Costco (Manchester) are now doing Hearing Aids.

I’m going to book a test but was wondering if anyone on here could give me an insight into the test and how thorough it is. In addition what are the fitting practices in the UK.

Last of all, would you recommend using Costco in the UK.

Cheers

Well going by my experience at Glasgow and Edinburgh very thorough, the best that I have had. REM or Real ear measurement, quality hearing aids, 3 month trial, and a three year warranty for around £1250. Also free cleaning and adjustments for the life of the aids. I will certainly be buying my next aids from Costco. I should add though, a successful fitting may depend on your hearing loss, going by your audiogram you should be fine.

Yes, I agree with the previous poster. For the price, it’s a no brainer. I had a hearing test, followed by REM and followup checks for approximately £1350 (including custom receivers) about 3 years ago, for a pair of KS10s, which are essentially Phonaks. This was at their Watford warehouse.

They are now selling Jabras, Phillips and Rextons.

I would have liked to have continued but I need a super power BTE now, which was not available a few months ago in any of their range.

Had my first Costco experience today as I went in for my hearing test and it was probably the best testing regime I’ve undertaken including NHS.

The lady who conducted the testing is a qualified Aud (I specifically asked).

The testing was the most thorough I’ve had and the time spent explaining my results in laymans terms was excellent. The myriad of questions I asked were answered with patience and understanding.

There’s no hard sell of anything and thorough explanation of each offering.

I ended up ordering the Philips 9050’s and even then she was asking if I wanted more time to think about it but I need my 6 year old Widex Evokes replacing.

Looking forward to having them fitted and hopefully continuing with my positive experience.

Cheers
