Costco Loss warranty lost 1 hearing last year and now lost other ear

Hello,

I’m writing for my dad who got a pair of Phonak hearing aids from Costco last year. He lost one hearing aid last year (6 months after getting them) during a hike. We’re on vacation right now, and he’s misplaced another one. We’ve searched everywhere and can’t find it. We are wondering if anyone had experience using the lost warranty twice but for one ear at a time. We’re on vacation and don’t have cellphone coverage or easy access to long distance calls so thought I’d ask here. Thanks for any help in advance.

Normally it’s one time per ear so you won’t be able to claim it for the same ear.

If it’s the other ear, you should be okay.

Perhaps this isn’t useful to you at all, but it might help others.

Awhile back I lost one of my hearing aids. It actually went flying off my head when I removed a face mask in my workroom. I look everywhere and couldn’t find it. But, the hearing aid was on on when I lost it, and I have a remote that controls volume and program. I very seldom use that remote, but it really came in handy for finding the lost aid.

When the remote sends a signal to the aid, the aid makes a beep–at least mine do. I asked my wife to help me (given that her hearing is better and the beep is pretty difficult to hear at any distance), and we eventually were able to narrow down the location of the aid. It had gotten wedged behind something. I had already searched that area and missed it.

ThomF, good suggestion. I lost my right one and connected my smart connect device which I never use, and was able to tell battery level of left one. Then moving around the room, the right one battery level became visible so I knew I was close to the aid. It was blended into a beige bed spread with patterns, making myself blind to it. Thanks.
