Hi,
Would the Siemens 312-B charger be suitable for the Costco KS7 HA’s, or would I need the 312-L
I dunno, but here’s something I came across in the >>Product Portfolio Catalog<<

Thanks pvc, I have since had a hearing test with Costco and signed up for the KS7’s, which are not compatible with the Siemens 312-B as the casing is larger in size. So I opted for the KS7 charger, which I believe would have been the Siemens 312-L. My Siemens Pure 501’s use the 312-B. I was hoping to save a few dollars by re-using the Siemens charger. Overall tho I have saved thousands by going to Costco. My audiologist wanted almost $4000 for the Signia Primax 500, or $6700 for the Signia Primax 700. Costco came in at $1999.99 for the KS7’s and $129.99 for the charger. Which way do you think I went? Loaded question.
Got a fitting at Costco on Monday. I don’t know yet whether I will get the re-chargeable batteries as part of the cost, I forgot to ask before I left. All up; there was a superior service at Costco and an almighty lower price. I believe they will give the hearing aid industry a really big shakeup.
Do you have any special reason why would you need a battery charger? I have the same device and batteries last for almost a week, and they are affordable. Rechargeable batteries last only a day or little more or less, soyou would be at disadvantage there
Well… no special reason really except when I first had to use HA’s I was supplied with the charger. That was 2010. Since then it became an everyday part of life to put them in the charger at night and put them in my ears in the morning. The Costco girl did give my current HA’s the once over with her ear magnifying tool and her remark was that they were in pretty good condition with only a small amount of deterioration. That came from having them in the charger which dries them as well as charges them. In Australia I am eligible for Gov assistance with the HA’s and for $43 insurance per year I was entitled to free batteries and testing and follow-ups. That, I guess, would be a special reason, but mainly; I’m used to them.
Costco has free follow-ups and I’ll find out about the batteries soon.
Well. I’ve had the KS7’s for a few days now and first impressions are good. The Audi took her time in getting them set up and also added some extra programs according to my lifestyle. Outdoor/Traffic (I play golf), Television (I have a 7.1 Sound system), Reverb Reducer (open plan living area). Not sure if the Reverb Reducer would be of any value as we don’t have high ceilings or much of a tiled floor. The other extra was Xphone. As soon as a phone comes into close contact with the aids, a beep sounds and it automatically allows me to hear the phone in both ears. Which I though was pretty neat. I have the Smart Remote app on my phone to control them. With the batteries, the Audi supplied two new ones at no cost. She even suggested that I keep them as a backup until my old ones fail. I’m a happy camper.
You can test the programs and then at your next appointment you can get your aids reprogrammed to keep the ones that you like. For example, I thought that Outdoor/Traffic did not do anything but I kept Noise program as very effective.
