Costco Kirkland Signature 9.0 (Product Information)

Thanks…smart phone smarter than I realized. I did some exploring, and promptly messed things up (kind of a bug from googling) but I’ll do some changes. Still with the trax42, ain’t wearing the necklace. Maybe some day I’ll be in KS9s…they need a 13 battery.

I just Ordered the KS 9’s as well .

Problem though in that they don’t accept Discover card . BUT , there is a way around just in case someone else needs to do this.

You can Use a Discover at Costco ONLINE to pay for the Costco Shop Card (gift card) . So we purchased one for $1,000 and one for $800 with no fee.

So now I suppose a week or so to get the Gift Cards to actually pay for the hearing aids. My Fitting with Rem is set for Dec 6th.

I really didnt want to go back to ric after using the cic’s past nearly 2 years but wow have to admit it was nice to have a bit more airflow passing through.

I tested the Bluetooth out and it was far better than what I was expecting and Best of all I cna turn off/lower bluetooth volume on one hearing aid !!

I driver Uber/Lyft and wanted left ear for bluetooth Navigation and right ear to listen to passengers and in the Easy Line app I played with today in the store does allow that.

I will chime in here.
The domes are the rubber open fits you see often and they are what they are. They fit or they do not. You buy then by multiples and swap them when the old ones are worn.
The slim tips are custom molds. I have them. They are what I would say are modular. By this I mean that you can take them apart, pull the receiver out, etc. You can get them in hard shell, silicone soft, or if you have phonak, titanium. You get mold in ear and sent away. Mine are from phonak and my Costco audi said he has had better fit with them than westones. I have a very small vent. My audiogram is not in as I am too lazy, but i slope gently from about 55-85. I need as much seal as I can get. The caveat with slim tips - you can only go as high as POWER RECEIVERS. If you need more juice and the UP receivers sealed c shells are your only choice.
If your loss requires UP RECEIVERS, then you must go with the c shell. It is NOT modular and if the receiver, take abort to clean, etc. it must go back to the manufacturer. These can be vented as well.

So, the bottom line is that slim tips and c shells are both custom molds. The most powerful receivers can only go in the c shells and will not fit in custom mold slim tips. My slim tips fit perfectly. I use the size 2P reveiver. $40 each at Costco.

Thanks smeltjr1! Great explanation. Appreciate that.

I received my TV Connector on Tuesday. It works well. My only surprise is that I must use the Easy Line Remote app or press the (+ & -) buttons on the TV Connector to change the volume. I can’t change the volume by pressing the HA switches. Any advise?

I have the same, but my HA’s will turn the sound volume up or down to my liking. A short push on the low side to turn down, etc. I noticed that I have turned the three I have, down as low as the TV Connector will go and then the sound is about right for the mid-point of the HA’s.

I finally got my 2nd Connector Friday, and am enjoying it connected to my laptop while playing music and news broadcasts and instructional videos, but when they end and no sound is being streamed, the Connector drives me nuts by constantly playing the on and off chimes. Is there a solution other than keeping it within arms reach so as to keep turning the Connector on and off?

Well now the chimes are constantly ringing in both H/As even when sound is being streamed from my laptop! Has anyone else encountered this problem? Is there a solution?

You can have it programmed so that it’s not automatically found. Then it works as does any other manual preset.

Thanks for your feedback.
I had this impression that mine weren’t set up properly. I wonder if this is something I can fix or must wait till my next appt.

I can’t find it either. Sorry, I don’t recall what was suggested.

I have not had this problem when connected to my laptop via the TV Connector, however can see it happening as when on the computer you can do other things while listening to music/youtube, and you can then stream from another source accidentally, this I do suppose could cause this. Say the first stream had ended and you click on a window that has sound and you get the tone, then the first starts up and dings again. Not sure, but can see the possibilities.

Alternate selection procedure can be changed at your fitter. There are three choices to hook up to the TV connector. One, automatic connection whenever sound is available without any dings or touch of button, second, what you and I have, which gives a ding and a short push of either connects, also can disconnect with a long push of the high side, then re-connect with another long push of the high side through whatever programs you have, and third, no ding, connect with a long push of the high side, disconnect with a long push to the high side, and re-connect by another long push high side. Realize that if you have more than the automatic program you will have to cycle through them to re-connect.

We only have our personal experience, how ever find it strange that your KS9s will not vary the volume. Mine will under any selection or connection. A short push all the way of the high side will raise the volume, and a short push all the way on the low side will lower the volume. From the mid-point there are 5 up, and 5 down.

RDB

Yes, mine do exactly as yours for Automatic and 3 Manual programs, but do not change the volume for TV Connector streaming.

Try placing the TV connector at its lowest volume, and see if that helps allow you to then fine tune the volume with the HA’s. Also try lowering the volume with the Easyline app. you shouldn’t have too, but…

Thanks. Maybe in the meantime I will try unchecking “Headphones” under “Output Device” from my Mac’s dropdown menu when not actively listening, and see whether that makes a difference, although I suppose that won’t cure last night’s experience of constant dinging while listening.
I’m also going to go to the k9userportal and see if there are any clues there in the Connector’s Manual.

I have had my KS9s for a week now. I love the sound although I miss the remote programming like I had on my old Rextons. My program to filter out noise in a restaurant or in an airplane was awesome. I don’t trust these hearing aids’s ability to automatically filter out such sounds and allow me to concentrate on speech. I think this part will work out. My main problem, however, is that the hearing aids are very painful to my right ear. It seems as if the dome goes deeper in that ear. The turn of the wire going into my ear, on the outside to inside of ear, is very tight. I can’t seem to place my dome any shallower in my ear as it just sucks back in, pretty deep. I miss my larger, more cushy domes from my Rextons. I wish I had options for such a more cushy dome. The old ones were milky.clear and the new ones are smokey/dark. I also think that a bigger dome or a longer wire would help but I’m told tht a longer wire is problematic as they just dont come in so many sizes. Appointment with Costco on 11-27-2019. Hope I get it all straightened out. Left ear is fine, by the way.

Following several rounds of connecting and disconnecting the TV Connector, the volume began to respond to the HA switches. However, the Easy Line App volume indicator remains unchanged.

Welcome to the forum!
The HAs can be fitted with 4 different types of domes: cap, open, vented and power. What are yours fitted with? Caps come in one size only whereas the other 3 come in 3 sizes. A larger dome should resist sinking deeper in the canal.

I purchased a Foxnovo Bluetooth TX/RX with Toslink connection on Ebay for $20.00 to test with my KS-9.

Paired OK and connected to my LG TV via Toslink cable. Sound sync perfectly.
Still playing around with it and only issue so far is TV remote volume control does not work.
I adjust the volume using the Kirkland Easy Line App. on my phone which shows a streaming program automatically when connected to the Foxnovo.
After disconnicting from the Foxnovo, I restart the hearing aids and pairs right back up to my phone without having to forget any devices.
