Just picked up my KS9 Saturday and was told to download “Easy Remote” app… Layout is exactly the same as Phonak App for Marvels that I have been trialing. I haven’t tried the phonak app with these aids… Yet.
I hope you are wrong about some of this. The 2 Bluetooth device pairing would be really nice for the KS9 aids.
I have read that Costco has never supported Roger, is that correct?
Your best bet is to get the TV streamer from Costco for $99 IF your TV has some form of audio out. Let me know the model number of your TV and I can find out your options.
Edited to add: Most TV’s at least have a headphone jack, which you could use, but the negative with that is it almost always mutes the TV speakers, so a spouse wouldn’t be able to listen as well.
Correct that Costco has never supported Roger (although it was doable with a Compilot 2 and Roger Receiver). It’s all guesswork at this time, but pretty confident that Phonak won’t “give away” it’s Bluetooth improvment to Costco bargain product. I’m hopeful that it will get the improved app, but even that is no sure thing.
Thanks for your answer. My TV is fairly old, but it has RCA outputs and TOS. I asked Costco person this question and got no answer. On the sheet sheet gave me with the features it says that it will work with any bluetooth device. She also couldn’t answer just how waterproof these were. So I looked up I68 and the spec says 3.5M water for 30 minutes. I’m going to a different Costco to purchase them…
If your TV truly has RCA outputs (and not just RCA inputs) you will just need an rca to aux adapter (less than $10 on Amazon) and it should work perfectly without muting the actual volume of the TV.
Do you mean a 3.5mm or 1/8" pin audio connector?
Sorry. 3.5mm. (adding characters to get to 20 limit [shrug]). Walmart, etc may have an adapter as well if you don’t do online shopping.
You want males on all ends (both RCA and 3.5mm aux). If you can only find one with a female 3.5 you could use that with the male-to-male 3.5mm cable that comes with the TV connector. This wouldn’t be ideal though as more connections means a higher likelihood of one of them failing.
So the branded “TV Connector” is 3.5?
It could also be 2.5mm just to add to the confusion
Yes, 3.5 per the linked pdf. Good confirmation though, as nothing worse than getting a 3.5 connector when you needed a 2.5 [headslap].
Just to be clear, the TV Connector also has a connection for an optical signal (TOSLINK). I was merely addressing the person that only had RCA outputs.
Optical and 3.5mm
I foolishly overlooked the “TOS” portion of your post. So you will be all set without any adapters. Sorry about that. The TV Connector appears to come with the TOS cable as well.
Given the choice, I would pick the BT improvment over a new app.
FWIW, both the optical and 3.5mm cables come with the TV streamer.
Oh, I agree. I just think the app is more likely, although as mentioned, neither is a sure thing.
Thinking about the Marvel 2.0 update.
It is sounding like the app and 2 Bluetooth device pairing is strictly a firmware update. The Roger update might have hardware.
If this is correct the KS9 aids just might get the app and Bluetooth update.
Fingers crossed.
You might want to double check the depth. Most IP68 are 1.5 meters at most.
Also it’s no guarantee. It just means they passed the test. Bottom line: Hearing aids don’t like moisture, not matter what rating they have.
I purchased the KS9’s last week and had a question. We use VOIP at my office and I was trying to connect my new KS9’s to my computer, with no luck. Does anyone know if this is possible and, if so, how can I do this?
Thank you in advance for any help you can provide me.
