I saw an article where it showed either the Phillips or Rexton from Costco had a battery door to replace the rechargable battery. As usual, I didn’t bookmark it and now I can’t find it. I am buying the Jabra brand, and don’t believe they have that feature.
The reason I chose the disposable battery Jabra was at this point I don’t trust the batteries that are sealed inside of the hearing aids to give me 3 full years and still supply full duration as when they wee new. My belief is battery technology isn’t quite there yet. Yet it may change my opinion if I could replace the rechargable battey at the first signs of fade.
Does anyone know which brand/model has the battery door to replace the rechargable battery? How much larger is it than the sealed hearing aids?
To me that changes the whole perspective on hearing aids. Depending on if it makes them huge or not. I’m scheduled at Costco for fitting tomorrow, so I’ll check out both the other brands.
I think I read in an older thread here that the previous generation Philips (9040) and Oticon had replaceable rechargeable batteries but that the latest (Philips 9050 and Oticon Intent) do not.
No point tenkan, it’s unfortunately true, no replaceable batteries for the Intent. You’re right @stevepriceloco. Here’s one review., and I’ve seen it mentioned in the Oticon propaganda info somewhere.
Sorry, @Rando, they all have to go to the factory.
A great reason to keep your old aids for backups, if you have, or ask your HCP if they provide loaners.
Costco offers 3 year warranty. At 2.5 years (or whenever you notice the battery not holding a charge as along), have Costco send them out for free rechargeable battery replacement.
