Costco fep bcbs claim denied

I ordered and paid for my new hearing aids at Costco, on the 7th of February, haven’t picked them up yet. I had made a Costco hearing aid purchase three years ago with no problems. I emailed them several times, and never got any reply, so I called and spoke to customer service. I spoke with customer service people, beginning in January, (at least four times), about my eligibility, and purchasing at Costco, all told me there would be no problem. I submitted the claim forms and all paperwork. Well, guess what, I just saw online on my FEP BCBS account that the claim had been denied because Costco was not one of their providers. Guess I’m going to have to call them and see what they have to say about it.

I purchased my hearing aids from Costco two years ago. I filed a claim with FEP BC/BS and they sent me a check for $2,500. I will be buying from Costco again when my three years are up. Please keep us posted as to what FEP BC/BS tells you.

One of the inexplicable wonders of the modern world is insurance billing. Sometimes there seems to be no rhyme or reason as to the decisions. I wish you the best of luck.

Thanks for all your replies, I think I’ll be reimbursed for the aids, but it will just take time. I don’t really see how they can deny the claim, since they paid the first claim three years ago.
