I have recently switched from Phonak B70R to Phonak P90R, I used to touch up my hearing aids with iCUBE, but these new ones require NOAHlink.
Luckily for an audi to close and sell me his Airlink2, he said it could be converted to NOAHlink Wireles and he was right. I reported it online and it was possible, even HIMSA provided information about this here:
All the steps were fulfilled, but there was a video card error during the loading of the new firmware and now it only recognizes âNOAHlink wirelessâ but it is impossible to connect through Phonak Target, it cannot find the device, although it appears in win
Try to reinstall Phonak Target, but everything remains the same
Anyone have light on this âŚ
new firm to reinstall in NOAHlink wireless?
Iâm afraid I got a nice brick
Itâs Noahlink wireless, the NOAHlink is a different device.
Always bad when you lose connection during a firmware update, this is for HAs or accessories, but I donât understand the "video card"error?
So just to be sure here, you say windows shows the device as âNoahlink wirelessâ and not Airlink2, so this would mean the firmware update was successful?
When you plug the Noahlink into your PC, do you get the green light flashing?
Just to be sure, have you checked that you have chosen Noahlink wireless as the programming device from the drop down menu, from right at the top of the software you have the option of doing this.
Yes could be, but the importance of not disrupting a firmware update is of paramount importance.
You are absolutely right, the device is noahlink wireless, I donât know why I wrote it that way. Correct is âNoahlink Wirelessâ
The video card error consisted of a multitude of colored boxes on the screen and a blockage of the equipment that required a reset, it was not intentional, just bad luck, it had never happened.
When connecting to USB, device turns its two lights green and WIN recognizes as âNoahlink Wirelessâ, device is recognized as such and âworks correctlyâ for WIN.
However, in Phonak Target 7.2.1> configuration> Adaptation devices> Noahlink Wireless selected, it appears as âconnection not verifiedâ, when checking it shows connection problem, check device connection to USB or load drivers or contact local support.
On the other hand, it is not possible to update the firmware in Phonak Target 7.2.1> trial and tools> firmware update> Noahlink Wireless> update ⌠so it doesnât seem to do anything.
Iâm with you, pretty brick. The risks of updating the firm were accepted, it was not sought, but there were problems
Go to the Device Manager of WIN OS, find Noahlink wireless, delete it, reconnect Noahlink wireless to other USB ports, and let WIN OS reinstall it.
If it doesnât solve the problem,
Install another brand fitting software, such as Resound SamrtFit, and use its firmware update tool to update the firmware of Noahlink wireless to the latest version.
Actually another thing I remember reading was that you should install the fitting software before connecting NoahLink Wireless otherwise Windows may use the wrong driver. The fitting software has the right driver. Anyway I agree with @menglxs ideas.
Thank you @menglxs for your help.
I had already tried its two solutions, delete drivers/device and reinstall in another USB port and install another software (I only test with Resound SmartFit and Philips Hearsuite), no luck with any.
@david.hendon , thank you also, the Phonak Target software was already installed and working correctly with iCube II and my olds B70R. Both Phonak Target and HIMSA provide the same driver âDriver_NLW_V.1.1.0.0.exeâ. I only found differences in the updates offered by Phonak Target and HIMSA and tried both without success.
Iâm running out of options ÂŻ \ _ (ă) _ / ÂŻ but Iâm still investigating
I donât know whether I made my point clear or not, but before you connect the NoahLink Wireless to your PC, you must have the right driver installed. Otherwise it will use a generic Windows USB driver with uncertain results. It wonât automatically pick up another driver that is installed later.
So I suggest to unplug the NoahLink Wireless, delete the entry in the device list as described by @mengxls, install the fitting software (you have done this I think) then plug the NoahLink Wireless into a USB socket and wait while it installs itself again but using the correct driver this time.
The fact that Target worked with the iCube isnât relevant.
Apologies if you have done things in this order already!
As @menglxs has mentioned, the ReSound SmartFit software would be the best bet, this is how I updated my Airlink2âŚbut as you have already tried this without success, itâs looking more and more like a paper weight ; (
That same HIMSA page says;
" WARNING: Do not unplug your Noahlink Wireless unit during the upgrade process! If you do so, the unit being upgraded will no longer work. The upgrade process may take 2-3 minutes.
When the upgrade is complete, the status field for the unit(s) will change to âUpgradedâ
Our Airlink2 (now Noahlink Wireless) has come back to life!!!
The solution was to downgrade the software and reinstall the latest version, now everything works fine
A PDF document on that page indicates how to Downgrading Noahlink Wireless firmware.
I recommend reading, there is everything.
Basically, load update software, press [Ctrl] [Alt] [Shift] and [D] keys simultaneously and a new DOWNGRADE button appears (to the right of UPGRADE), clicking on it recovers the damaged firmware version on the device, After waiting until finishing (this time yes) it only remains to update to firm 2.24. So we get a Noahlink Wireless updated to 2.24 which works perfectly
Thatâs what happened at first (graphics card failure, required reboot) We didnât mean for that to happen, but we learned our lesson. This was all discussed at the beginning of the thread.
