Contact Philips or Samsung for help?

I have a Samsung Galaxy A 53 5g, supposed to have Bluetooth le but doesn’t give me handsfree with Philips 9050

I checked specs.
I have the Pixel 6a with Bluetooth 5.2, A2DP and LE.
I cannot do hands free. I have to talk into the phone. I hear in my aids.
Yours has Bluetooth 5.1, A2DP and LE. At least that’s what the specs I saw said.
They are some smart people on this forum who know I lot more than me.
They should chime in.

What is this?
There are different types of Bluetooth low energy. Which one are you talking about?
Thanks

Does it have le audio, that is the key

But does it have le audio. That is the key

In order to get hands-free calling you need Bluetooth LE Audio. BT LE is what is used for ASHA.
Big difference, is that with ASHA you only get streaming to your aids, not from your aids.
You’d need the AudioClip device for hands-free with your phone.
LE Audio is only supported on Galaxy S 23 & 24, or Pixel 7 to 9 series at this time.
Sony may also have a model.

@freezerman404 I have the 6a as well, we won’t be getting LEA afaik.

It’s alright. I’m happy with the phone.
My aids. have Auracast.
Maybe by the time I’m ready for a new phone it will have Auracast.
I can hope.

I believe the phones made in 2026 will be mandated to support LEA and Auracast, and our 6a’s are supported for software upgrades for 2 more years, so that’s a good thing!

I figure like the normal process that it will only effect phones from made from that time forward.

From what I’ve read, the 6a only has one more OS upgrade and two years more of security updates.

I believe only new phones must follow the new FCC regulations.

So that leaves out the Pixel 6a unless Google does something similar to what Samsung did. Hopefully, that’s why we haven’t seen an assistant on the Pixel phones yet.

The A 53 is not listed on the Samsung web site. So I’m not sure where you got your information.
